Arrowhead Stadium is iconic. It’s history. It’s memories. It’s generations of Chiefs fans who built something special there.

But let’s be honest, the state of Missouri had every opportunity to keep the Chiefs and chose not to act.

For years, the area surrounding Arrowhead has been run down. No meaningful investment. No long-term vision. No urgency to modernize or build around one of the most successful franchises in professional sports. While the team kept winning, leadership stayed stagnant.

Kansas stepped up with a plan, investment, and a future-focused vision. From a pure business standpoint, moving makes sense, facilities, infrastructure, surrounding development, and long-term growth all matter. Kansas understood that. Missouri didn’t.

This isn’t about loyalty vs greed. It’s about missed opportunities and failure to invest when it mattered most.

It’s a sad day for Missouri, but the responsibility for this outcome is squarely on the state that let it happen.

The Chiefs aren’t leaving because they wanted to.

They are leaving (possibly) because they were given no reason to stay.
