@MurrayHillGuy1 I’m a 35 year old dad in Michigan, almost zero connection to NYC and haven’t dated in a while, but your perspective is endlessly entertaining (and honestly enlightening on current culture which seems to be moving at light speed). Keep it up boss - great work
@ezraklein@JensenHuang I feel as though I should be deferential to Jensen given his status and brilliance, but man his rebuttals seemed so very simplistic and full of holes. I hardly heard a legitimately nuance and thoughtful sentence the entire interview
@alexwg AWG - do you really think this is just all some economic conspiracy that competitors (some that absolutely hate each other) are coordinating to create a monopoly? Let’s pretend just for a second that there is legitimate concern. In that case, is this not a rational response?
@DKThomp Thank you Derek - please keep using your platform on this point because I think it’s among the most consequential out there. This conspiratorial narrative risks completely debasing our political leaders and public opinion on AI safety. The lab leaders are speaking rationally
@DavidSacks Sacks, unless you have evidence this is the secret motivation behind Dario (and apparently Sam and Elon since they agreed), I think it’s very reckless to write such sweeping conspiratorial assumptions. If they have good motives, you ruin trust and make joint action difficult
@tonjkb This is such an absurd position. Buying my house may be slightly worse financially that just investing in stocks, but the stability and comfort having your own place, that you can upgrade overtime, and not have the tension of being subject to a landlord is worth way more for most
@emollick Ethan - I still don’t see any agentic use in my real white collar life (M&A attorney) at my firm or with clients. Or at least that’s my understanding. What is Codex being used for in white collar? If I ask AI to build a PowerPoint and it does, is that considered agentic?
@MurrayHillGuy1 Northern Michigan has to get a little love. Lake life is absolutely pristine. Traverse City, Petoskey and Harbor Springs are favorites (among many good choices)
@DKThomp I think trends ebb and flow. While I don’t disagree that things will continue to trend towards health broadly, especially with medial advances that will likely allow for “healthier intoxication”, I think the flow will head back towards carefree fun and “we will never die” vibes
@dalibali2 It’s interesting how many people are pushing against you. I completely agree. Not saying it isn’t a good model, but everything is Claude or Chat. Gemini has lost the brand and momentum. Polymarket bets for best LLM back this up. Huge fall from 1 year ago
@Noahpinion People in the US want SUVs (no the Model Y doesn’t count), because it’s practical. I have kids, dog, ski and golf. SUV is so much more advantageous. Everyone in my upper middle class neighborhood drives SUVs. Detroit is still king of the SUV.
@WifiMoneyPlant Agree, but no one who is 40 should want to be with any 20-25 year old women. If you stay in shape, stay interesting and keep building, you’ll have a broader pool, including late 20s (and especially 30s) as you age. Many women want stability and confidence that older men provide
@MurrayHillGuy1 From 16-30, I partied every weekend / often during the week. It was outrageously fun, careless and perfect for that time. I was constantly around friends and truly in the moment. It was wonderful. Now I have a family, money, accomplishment and stability, which is more rewarding
@zackbshapiro Thanks for sharing Zack. I'm a M&A partner at a 200 person law firm and largely agree. Question for you: do you think in-house may start taking a large role as well? Hiring in several top partners for top pay for their judgement w/AI tools to replace 75% of outsourced work?
@emollick Ethan - I rarely disagree with you, but I feel like this is said enough to be a cliche at this point. Until AI agents can actually act with consistent accuracy and automation across a diverse and changing environment, it will need full human oversight as we have today.
@MattWalshBlog When the hell was the US in favor of imperialism? We always fought to save independent countries from aggression. We ended colonialism after WWII. We fought to protect global order. We have always stood for the exact opposite of what you’re preaching
