@AndrewHWestern And so the deception continues...
The VAT position has NOTHING to do with charitable status.
The VAT-exempt status of education remains, OTHER THAN IN RESPECT OF PRIVATE SCHOOLS ONLY.
A tax was imposed. Own it, Labour!
@CaraPac46808618@jrkdenison@Lola__McEvoy Cara - every other similar business IS getting this “subsidy”.
Private school fees are now the only educational supply that is not exempt from VAT.
@sail_outtt@ElshadKarbasi “According to the evidence from the scientific literature reviewed in the present article, transmission of respiratory viruses through contaminated foods does not seem a potential route of exposure. It includes also SARS-CoV-2.”

@sail_outtt@ElshadKarbasi I’m not being obtuse. Infection pathways and not intuitive. It is simply being asserted that this is a risk. There is research on this issue that shows little evidence for food as a vector of respiratory infections.
@sail_outtt@ElshadKarbasi Happy to share.
It involved lots of people in branches of Marks & Spencer all over the country, inside and outside hospitals.
And if you were hospitalised with COVID, you likely weren’t browsing pastries in the shop…
@JennyAscendant@sally_hines I don’t think you can contest the law at all. The Supreme Court is called that for a reason.
Parliament can change the law - which is why it is a bit odd for Whittome et al to sit there complaining about it…
@CarlaMRS2386@ElshadKarbasi People are actively discouraged from visiting others in hospital when they are ill and/or contagious.
In between laughing a lot, please do continue to make stuff up that is “clearly” true to you, Carla.
@CarlaMRS2386@ElshadKarbasi Neither emphysema nor COPD is a communicable disease.
People visit branches of M&S outside hospitals…
Oh Carla, engage brain before typing,
@nightingales2_2@Dmdav1 However, the scope of indirect discrimination (which has bankrupted many LAs and is now impacting supermarkets) should be reviewed, IMO!
@nightingales2_2@Dmdav1 Contrast with the concept of discrimination being prohibited. It’s only recently that Reform has suggested that this might be revisited. That aside, it’s something that should form part of the law.
