Chris Nolan in 2023 for the press tour of his new movie
Interviewer: So why again did you feel the need to use a real atomic bomb for the movie?
Nolan: There was just something special about the look that the explosion gave off on IMAX celluloid that the CGI renderings didn’t.
I think this is what the world has been missing. Ngl. I thought they were done I thought this ended way too soon but I’m super excited that this is happening.
@luckilyenough On the blu ray and 4k physical copies of the film he treats us with the aspect ratio changes and tries to replicate that imax feel for at home. And odyssey will be different for at home because every frame will fill the screen.
@luckilyenough I think there were some other comments but it does essentially defeat the whole point of what makes an IMAX 70mm or hell even laser imax special. However, where Nolan’s films shine post theatrical release he does treat the home audiences well…
@buddhistwisdom7 I think Christopher Nolan is the exception to how much an R movie can cap out at. I mean opening night and the opening imax weekend tickets went on sale a whole year in advance and sold out within minutes. Nolan is a marquee name he delivers an experience every time. I’m excited!
@Michael_Fabiano It’s not perfect but the truth is you can’t let anyone on YouTube or here make your opinions for you. I was expecting to walk out after hearing what some of those reviewers said, but here’s the truth: I stayed the whole time, it didn’t piss me off, and I had fun with it.
@NangoCine A Martin Scorsese Picture : “SONS OF NEW YORK” an epic crime drama thriller 3 1/2 hours long yet somehow reinventing the crime drama all over again 😂
In the unlikely event where this ends up being the first “R” rated Avengers movie🤞 I’m just saying the fanbase (the 2008 crowd) has grown up. But, I think whatever route they go I think it will be interesting at the very least. It’s just exciting to see how this plays out. Idk
@rianjohnson It’s just the perfect movie there’s nothing else to say about it. Everyone’s great in it and I haven’t laughed this hard during a movie all year. Hell might even be a Christmas Day and Easter Watch (definitely be an Easter rewatch 😉).
@FilmUpdates Tickets for the opening weekend of the odyssey literally sold out a year before the movie came out… on IMAX 70mm mind you “the dead medium”. The theatrical experience isn’t dead.
