Presidential Candidate for Galmudug 2026. This journey is not mine alone it belongs to all of us,and we shape a brighter future for Galmudug state of Somalia.
The United States should immediately review its relationship with Somalia's current leadership and impose targeted sanctions on any officials for whom there is credible evidence of corruption, abuse of power, or actions that undermine democratic governance and security cooperation.
The recent video appearing to show individuals in Somali military uniforms disrespecting the U.S. flag despite the Ministry of Defence's announcement that those allegedly involved were detained and an investigation is underway has intensified concerns about the direction of Somalia's institutions and leadership.
American taxpayers have invested billions to help build Somalia's security institutions. That support should not shield corrupt officials from accountability. Stand with the Somali people not those who betray the public trust.

A growing perception within political circles is that the fragmentation of the opposition is not merely accidental. Instead, it has become increasingly convenient and arguably beneficial for A former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, whose political strategy has consistently favored engaging divided rivals rather than confronting a united front.
Whether by design or by exploiting existing rivalries, the result is unmistakable: two competing opposition blocs have emerged, each pursuing separate political strategies, engaging different international partners, and advancing competing electoral models. The primary beneficiary of this division is the incumbent.
Turkey's expanding political role has reinforced this dynamic. As A former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud's closest external partner, Ankara has become deeply embedded in Somalia's political calculus. Critics argue that Turkish diplomacy has, intentionally or otherwise, strengthened one opposition camp over another, creating parallel channels of engagement rather than encouraging a single, inclusive opposition platform. Whether this reflects a deliberate strategy or the unintended consequences of selective diplomacy, the effect has been the same: a fragmented opposition and a stronger presidency.
The diplomatic arena now mirrors the political divide. Turkey has emerged as the principal interlocutor for one process, while the United States and the United Kingdom support another. Rather than converging around a single mediation framework, Somalia now finds itself with competing diplomatic tracks that risk institutionalizing political fragmentation instead of resolving it.
Meanwhile, two competing political coalitions are seeking to shape Somalia's electoral future, each backed by different domestic and international networks. Instead of building leverage through unity, the opposition has diluted its influence by negotiating from separate platforms.
Compounding this vacuum is the relative absence of the UN Security Council pen holders, whose coordinated leadership has historically provided an international framework for Somali political settlements. Their diminished role has created space for competing bilateral agendas to shape the process.
Whether the fragmentation of the opposition is the product of deliberate political engineering or simply the predictable outcome of elite rivalries, the strategic beneficiary is unmistakable. A former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud no longer faces a single opposition; he faces several.
In politics, fragmentation is often as valuable as popularity. An incumbent does not always need to defeat a united opposition if he can successfully govern a political landscape in which unity never materializes. Unless the opposition reunifies around a common leadership, a single negotiating framework, and one electoral vision, the president's path to another five year term will remain considerably less challenging than it otherwise would be.

Agreed. The Somali people didn't consent to mandate extension. Didn't consent to unilateral constitutional changes. Didn't consent to military occupation of dissenting states. Party takes all. Money to unseat state leaders. Fake politics. Real corruption.#Somalia
“the Somali people will never again be subjected to a system they do not consent to”
This key message that keeps reappearing in @HassanSMohamud speeches rings hollow.
Because the Somali people reject corrupt electoral practices and exclusion by an indirect electoral system does NOT translate to accepting corrupt and exclusionary practices by HSM and his latest vehicle JSP.
And by the way the Somali people have not consented to the illegal mandate extension, the unilateral constitutional review, the military takeover of dissenting FMS’s… etc…

The Somali Future Council has endorsed Direct Electoral Model as a pathway to resolving the country’s prolonged electoral dispute. The decision reflects a spirit of political compromise and a commitment to the national interest, with the aim of reaching a timely and inclusive agreement on the electoral process. It is intended to break the current political deadlock, restore confidence among stakeholders, and create the conditions for a credible, consensual, and legitimate political transition.
Imagine #Africa led by political leaders with @elonmusk 's ruthless vision of governing, not engineering and this young continent would crush poverty, obliterate dictatorship, and eradicate the corruption cancer that devours it. Wake up, Africa…..!!!
Wishing you a blessed and happy Islamic New Year 1448. May Allah grant you profound peace, unity, and endless mercy for you and your loved ones as we welcome the sacred month of Muharram. Allahumma Ameen.
Just as I warned in my LSE piece back in May - today’s election of Federal Parliament Speaker Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe as President of South West State is the exact outcome of the federal government’s strategy I mapped out.
The “South-West State flashpoint” section predicted this move step-by-step: military intervention in Baidoa, installation of loyalists, and Madobe being positioned as the candidate.

The script of Somali politics continues. Weak institutions > strong rules.
What happens next with the federal Speakership vacancy and the opposition coalition’s response will be telling.
Somali referee Omar Artan has been denied entry to the United States for the World Cup, according to a Somali government official.
Artan was named as a match official for the tournament in April and had been set to become the first Somali to referee at a World Cup. https://t.co/WqlYU6X9jN
This isn't development, it's daylight looting by Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. My family & others lived on that land with legal titles from previous govts. HSM bulldozed their homes, forcibly evicted them & handed the land (428 plots) to Ibrahim Sheikh Mohamud, who sold it to criminal cartels for $21.4 million. The attached notarized agreements document the crime & a fact. The cartels paid only after securing forced evictions & bulldozers. #Somalia public & private land lootings.
Noola Oosta (Attached samples) has laid it out in plain to the governor to legalize to the citizens of Somalia. Watch HSM’s speeches in the videos, then look at what he actually did to civilians. The gap is a lie. Criminal businessmen openly admit the president took $50,000 per plot. The demolished homes in the attached images weren't collateral damage, they were destroyed for HSM's personal gain. #Mogadishu
We will bring this to justice in the next government. The crime is documented. The witnesses are alive. The bulldozers didn't lie. #Banaadir @UN_HRC

Haddii qof kasta oo @TheVillaSomalia a fadhiista uu ku dhaco cudurka maandooriyaha ah ee xukun jecleysiga, waxaa adkaanaysa in la helo dowladnimo dhab ah oo ku dhisan hay’ado xooggan, sharci, iyo kala dambayn.
Dowladnimo lagama sugo qof danihiisa gaarka ah ka hormarinaya danaha shacabka, balse waxaa laga sugaa hoggaamiye dhisa nidaam ka sii jira marka uu xilka ka dago.
Taariikhdu waxay xusuusataa hoggaamiyeyaasha dalka u shaqeeyay, ee ma xusuusato kuwa kursiga ku dheganaa.

.@UNTMIS_ is gravely concerned by the outbreak of fighting in Mogadishu last night and calls on all sides to demonstrate responsible leadership, cease hostilities and refrain from further actions that put civilian lives at risk while returning to dialogue in the interest of all Somalis.
UNTMIS and international partners have repeatedly warned, in our statements and stakeholder engagements, of the risk of repeating the crisis that arose in 2021 over differences regarding the electoral roadmap -- warnings that were unfortunately not heeded.
UNTMIS urges all Somali leaders to prioritise the national interest and resume the talks that ended on 15 May. Somalia's international partners stand ready to facilitate such a dialogue.
