LSTs Overview; WHAT IS JUPSOL?

Before delving into what JUPSOL is, it is important to know what LSTs are; LSTs are Liquid Staking Tokens.The concept of LST is an endeavour to make $SOL staked on the network validators accessible and flexible for other DeFi activities.

Back then, in the day, it is:
1. You hold your $SOL in your wallet, experience the price appreciation and depreciation that comes with the market volatility.
2. Stake your $SOL on Validators to earn yields for supporting and boosting the blockchain network during the period that you used to stake it.
3. Deposit your $SOL on DeFi protocols like lending and borrowing protocol as collateral so that you would be able to borrow another asset or use your $SOL to provide liquidity on Liquidity Protocols.

You can only do one of the above at a time with a particular amount of $SOL, but with the advent of LSTs you can now do everything with the same particular amount of $SOL,( Deposit your $SOL into a validator,earn yields, while still having the chance to either hold the tokens in your wallet or use it to perform other DeFi activities).Thanks to @sanctumso for spearheading this great innovation in the Solana ecosystem.

Diving Deep into Jupiter Lock 🪐🔐

Jupiter Lock is one of the emerging products from @JupiterExchange, designed to enhance token locking and vesting for projects and individuals.

It’s a smart, streamlined approach to token management, as it's open-sourced, allowing other projects to implement token vesting schedules mechanism without needing to build a vesting contract from scratch. Additionally, it provides a simple way for non-technical users to leverage this functionality.

Steps to Implement and Execute Jupiter Lock

🪐🔐 Click “+ Create Token Lock.”
🪐🔐 Select the token you wish to lock by pasting the token ticker or the token contract address (recommended for security).
🪐🔐 Fill in the required details:
- Lock Title
- Intended Lock Amount
- Recipient Wallet Address
- Vesting Start Date
- Vesting Duration and Interval
- Optional Cliff
- Unlock Schedule
- Who can cancel the contract
- Who can change the Recipient
🪐🔐 Click “Proceed” to execute the lock contract, then return to the home page to view the lock you initiated.
🪐🔐 You can add additional locks for the same token but with a different vesting schedule by clicking “+ Add another lock.”

It is important to note that the recipient must manually claim vested tokens when they become available.

🪐 SWAPS
Imagine a shoe-selling platform integrating different shoe stores so that those interested in buying shoes can get the *best price* for their desired shoes, instead of going around different shoe stores, thereby saving time and money. This depicts Jupiter as a decentralized exchange aggregator, which aggregates decentralized exchanges across the ecosystem for traders to get the best prices for their tokens in a timely manner and on a user-friendly interface.

🪐 LIMIT ORDERS
In a situation where Bob is trying to buy a house at his budgeted price ($100k), but it is priced higher ($120k) than his budget, he tells his real estate agent that he's interested in buying the house but the agent should buy it when the price drops to $100k. Similarly, when Bob wants to sell the house for $300k, but it is being bid for a lower amount, the agent won’t sell it unless someone pays $300k or higher. Jupiter serves as an agent for your limit order trading activities, allowing you to buy and sell tokens at your desired prices.

🪐 DCA (DOLLAR COST AVERAGING)
When you're contributing a fixed amount of money from your salary every month into your retirement savings so that after you retire, you'd have accumulated enough to live on without needing to work again. This explains Jupiter’s DCA product, which allows you to buy and sell tokens with the amount and time period specified.

🪐 VA (VALUE AVERAGING)
When you're contributing different amounts of money from your salary every month into your retirement savings, the variation in amounts may be due to factors like economic conditions, unexpected expenses, and others, but the end goal is still to have enough to live on after retirement. The Value Averaging product is similar to DCA, which buys and sells over a specified period of time, but with VA, the amount bought or sold depends on market conditions (buying more tokens when the price is low, buying fewer tokens when the price is high).

🪐 PERPS (PERPETUAL TRADING)
Taking out a mortgage to buy a house when you don't have the full amount to pay upfront but can deposit a small amount and still acquire the house while owing the bank is similar to how Jupiter Perps work. You can use leverage to trade a position larger than your initial capital, allowing you to potentially make larger profits or larger losses💀.
