Husky Academy is in full swing this summer. We have 6 weeks of jam-packed activities for your children from reading, math, science, art, and much more!
In Weeks 1 and 2 of Husky Academy, students have connected with characters that demonstrated the strengths of belonging, kindness, and friendship. Each week at Closing Campfire, students from each class are recognized for displaying the strength from that week!
I’m incredibly grateful to have my project funded with the support of the @HSEdFoundation and Herb Kohl Philanthropies!
We recognize students who exhibit the 7 strengths of @Scholastic LitCamp at closing campfire. https://t.co/bfj6HOqQC7
HSSD is proud of @Husky_Academy, a program at Howard Elementary which continues learning gains throughout summer! Enjoy a @Scholastic blog written by Kristin Ashley, Howard Principal, as she showcases her excitement about the program: https://t.co/qiZ75fKYFw.
Our @HSSD Nutrition Team has been working hard to provide our students with free breakfast (and lunch in some locations) during #HSSDSummerSchool2021. While our summer school program ends this week, free healthy meals for kids & teens does not. See the attached flier for info.
The beaming smiles on our first, second, and third graders faces was priceless when they received these book bags! Thank you to the @GivingTreeHSSD for helping our students build their home libraries with so many great books! @howard_huskies
I had the privilege to visit @HSSD in April and was impressed by the community, the way all work together to support the schools, and how the leadership makes it happen. This is 1st class glimpse into an amazing place for kids, teachers, and families.

Husky Academy students are learning about courage this week as part of the LitCamp routine. A first grader shared he was courageous in the water when a little fish nibbled on his toe. He was brave and went back in the water after that happened!
