With Christmas approaching, if you're wondering what to buy the history/Liverpool lover in your life – look no further than SCOUSE REPUBLIC, the definitive account of the city's rise, fall and resurgence.
I spoke to @AyOdeh about the attempts to remove him from the Knesset, and wrote in the @NewStatesman about the deteriorating situation for Palestinian citizens of Israel
Now it has a front cover I'm very happy to say SCOUSE REPUBLIC will be out on 27 March - please get the pre-orders in now, much appreciated!
In the words of Paul Du Noyer:
"Swift's superb analysis gets to the scarred heart of this troubled, beautiful and spirited city."
‘If the Bauhaus was only semi-coherent, how did it become so influential? Crucial here is the way it was reduced to a style, which circulated in newspapers, magazines, books and shows.’

1/ In yet another episode of displacement, the people of Um Al-Hiran in the Naqab awaken to the sight of their homes reduced to rubble. Another day begins, and once again, Israel pushes forward with its plan to erase our indigenous villages from the map
Watch: Israeli authorities demolish the mosque in the Bedouin village of Um Al Hiram in the Negev/ Naqab as they evict the entire village in order to build a Hewish village on the lands
Pleased that my article for @antipodeonline on city walking tours of Jaffa, which unpacks the connections between settler colonialism and neoliberal urbanism, has now received over 1,000 views... Read it here https://t.co/pbQo1Lw8KV #ViewsMilestone
As someone interested in how burial sites can urban unpack geopolitics and daily life, I was happy to discover next door to @igc2024dub an amazing exhibition at the @ExpGlasnevin
It was such a privilege to take part in the Spatial Justice and Community Engaged research sessions at @igc2024dub, with fantastic speakers and insightful conversations!
By illuminating the connections between these two places, as well as their histories and geographies of spatial violence, we aimed to confront and dismantle the colonial divide between them.

With hope for the end of the genocide and for decolonization, I am pleased to share this feature that my dear colleague @HussMichal and I wrote about Gaza and Bi’r as-Sab’a>>
When @HussMichal comes to Kolkata, we go and explore with @rangan_datta to understand how the city evolved. From temples to churches, synangogues and graveyards, memoryscapes of a thick landscape.
@furquansid Hi Furquan I'm doing a post-doc land disputes relating to cemeteries in Delhi and Jaffa and would love to talk with you if possible. I tried to DM you but can't for some reason, but please let me know if you would be open to a brief conversation. Many thanks!
Devastating. The Khouri house stood among the remains of al-Bassa for decades. It survived so much& bore witness to the ongoing Nakba. To stop this path of death and destruction we must imagine & build a future of return & justice.
Sorry Elias & the Koury family
