THE POWER OF WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING

Proverbs 4:7 (KJV): "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."

The Power of Wisdom and Understanding

Many people go to God when they need something—healing, a breakthrough, or help in a tough situation. And yes, God still does miracles! But the truth is, miracles alone don’t change a person’s life forever. What really changes you is wisdom and understanding—knowing how and why the miracle happened and who made it happen.

Look at the Israelites in the wilderness. They saw amazing things: food falling from the sky, water coming out of rocks, and God leading them with a cloud by day and fire by night. But even after all that, many of them didn’t grow in their relationship with God. Why? Because they saw what God did, but they didn’t understand why or how He did it (Psalm 103:7).

A miracle can heal your body today but wisdom and understanding changes how you think and live for the rest of your life. When you understand how God works, you don’t just wait for a miracle, you begin to live in God’s power every day.

Miracles are wonderful, but they should lead us to know God more deeply, not just make us chase after the next big thing He can do for us. They are like signs pointing us to who God really is. The more we know the One who gives miracles (not just the miracles themselves), the more our lives are transformed.

Has God given you a breakthrough or delivered you in a miraculous way? Don’t only rejoice over the miracle. Take time to learn about God’s heart behind it. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand why and how it happened. Let wisdom and understanding be your foundation—because that’s what builds a strong and lasting relationship with God.

PRAYER: Loving Father, thank You for the miracles I’ve seen and experienced. But more than anything, I want to understand You and Your ways. I humble myself so that You may teach me to seek Your heart, not just what You can give me. I grow in wisdom and understanding so I can live every day in Your truth and power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
