Paying extra for "AI Mode tracking" on top of AI Overviews? Read what Google itself reports first.

- Google's Generative AI performance report in Search Console went worldwide on 31 August 2026. Impressions only: no clicks, no queries, no split between AI Overviews and AI Mode
- Google's Search generative AI control switches off AI Overviews and AI Mode together
- Most trackers still sell the two surfaces as separate products

We checked 15 AI Overviews trackers against Google's documentation: https://t.co/JHVNQYufp9

Seeing strange search terms since September? Your Search campaign may have been moved to AI Max without you touching it.

Google has been auto-upgrading Search campaigns that used campaign-level broad match or automatically created assets to AI Max for Search. Search term matching and text customization can now be switched on.

What I'm checking in every account this month:
1. Campaign settings: which AI Max features are actually on
2. Search terms report: queries your keywords never covered
3. Brand exclusions and URL controls
4. October vs August, not September (September mixes old and new settings)

Want to keep AI Max? Prove it with a proper Google Ads experiment first.

Manufacturers: your next big contract probably starts with a design engineer finding your tolerance chart at 11pm.

That's how manufacturing deals are won. An engineer shortlists you, and a procurement manager approves you three months later. Generic "do keyword research, fix technical SEO, build backlinks" advice ignores that chain completely.

Manufacturing SEO has to serve the whole buying committee:
- Capability pages engineers can actually use
- Technical resources and specs worth bookmarking
- Supplier visibility that turns into qualified RFQs

"Is E-E-A-T a ranking factor for my store?" Google has published the answer, and none of the 9 pages we read reported it.

Google's wording: E-E-A-T itself isn't a specific ranking factor, but using a mix of factors that can identify content with good E-E-A-T is useful.

Trust is the one that matters. Google calls it the most important member of the family, and its rater guidelines name payment policy, exchanges, returns, secure payment and customer service for shopping sites.

Struggling to get leads from Google Ads? Start with the math, not the ads.

I'm Ishant Sharma. I've been in digital marketing since 2013, and at Hustle Marketers (Google and Microsoft Advertising Partner) we run Google Ads for service businesses every day.

The lead gen order that works:
1. Know what one client is worth. Legal clicks can cost hundreds of dollars and still pay off, because one signed client is worth far more
2. Track qualified leads, not just form fills, so bidding learns what a real lead looks like
3. Only then let Smart Bidding chase volume

Skip step 1 and every click feels expensive. Skip step 2 and Google optimizes for junk.

"Why does Google Shopping flag my dog food as a pharmaceutical?" A pet retailer with 17,000 products asked exactly this in the Google Ads community.

Large parts of their dog food, cat food and flea treatment listings were disapproved under the restricted pharmaceuticals policy, despite correct pet supplies categories. When they requested manual review, 90% were approved without any changes.

Agency owners comparing SEO tools: the sticker price is rarely what you pay. Seats, client logins and exit terms decide it.

We compared the best SEO tools for agencies on verified prices, every figure read at the vendor's own page on October 1, 2026. Across 38 competitor pages, none dated a price.

One example: SE Ranking is the cheaper way to give clients a login with your own branding if you can commit annually. Semrush is cheaper for adding client sites if you need neither.

Before you hire a digital marketing agency, try this test.

Ask ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity to recommend an agency for your service and city. See who actually gets named.

It's a fast, honest signal of visibility and trust that most "best agency" lists never mention.

We ranked the 12 best digital marketing agencies for small businesses in 2026, by proven ROI, budget fit, and transparency, not size.

HVAC owners: why does the phone go quiet in October and explode at the first cold snap? Because HVAC search follows the weather, and your SEO has to be ready before it does.

Win three things, in this order:
1. The map pack for "ac repair near me": Google Business Profile, reviews, proximity
2. Separate pages for emergency repair and installation, plus city pages for the suburbs you serve
3. Timing: cooling pages live by early spring, heating pages by late summer

"Which tools can track whether Claude recommends my brand?" We checked 28 AI visibility tools on their own pricing pages.

- 21 track Claude
- Only 13 include it in a normal self-serve plan with no extra fee
- 4 hide it behind unpublished Enterprise pricing
- 4 charge an add-on or make you bring your own Anthropic API key
- 7 don't offer it at any price

And "rank" is the wrong word. AI answers change run to run, so visibility % across many prompts is the metric that holds up.

If your Shopify store gets Google Shopping price mismatch disapprovals and your pricing is correct, the problem is not your pricing.

Google's crawler mostly uses US based IPs. Shopify Markets switches currency by IP. So the crawler sees USD on a page meant to show NZD, and Merchant Center flags a mismatch that never actually existed.

Two fixes: a currency URL parameter for a quick patch, or subfolder market URLs to remove the root cause for good.

"My WooCommerce Shopping traffic dropped and nothing shows an error." That's how most WooCommerce feeds fail: silently.

- Feed sync jobs can report success while nothing reaches Merchant Center. Check the feed file's last-modified time or Merchant Center's last fetch date, not the plugin's status screen
- Google sunset the Content API for Shopping on August 18, 2026. File-based plugins weren't affected. API-push plugins had to migrate (Google for WooCommerce did in version 3.8.0)

Hiring a PPC agency in New York? A Manhattan address matters less than these six things:

1. Their plan for expensive NYC auctions
2. Borough, commuter and language targeting
3. Their fee model
4. Confirming you own the Google Ads account
5. Meeting the person who runs it day to day
6. Their grasp of your industry's ad rules

Full disclosure: we're a remote team based in India working with New York clients, and the guide says so.

Google Ads can now add promotions to your ads that you never created.

Automated promotions are default-on from October 12. Google scans your website for offers and turns them into promotion assets on eligible Search and Performance Max campaigns (for now, ones with location assets and no promotion assets of their own).

The risk: an expired sale banner, a members-only code or a first-order discount ends up in ads shown to everyone.

Two ways to handle it:
1. Turn off Automated Promotions in your account-level automated asset settings
2. Or keep it on and clean up every offer on your landing pages first

Once one serves, you'll find it under Assets.

"What am I actually paying my SEO company for?" A fair question every business owner should ask.

A good SEO company does six jobs: technical fixes, keyword research, content, links and mentions, local listings, and reporting.

A good one also tells you:
- What it cannot promise
- What you still have to do yourself
- Which accounts stay in your name. Search Console, Analytics and Google Business Profile should be owned by you, not the agency

"My remarketing list is too small to serve." Check which number you're working from.

Google's documentation says a Search Network data segment needs a minimum of 100 active visitors or users in the last 30 days, and repeats the same number for Display and YouTube.

We read 31 pages ranking for remarketing queries. Most still say Search needs 1,000 users. Two of them have 2026 in the title.

Also worth knowing: cookies are not going away. Plan audiences on what Google documents today.

Items Not Available and Out of Stock are not the same error in Meta Commerce Manager.

Out of Stock fixes itself once you restock. Items Not Available can also mean a broken image, price mismatch, bad URL, or a null inventory value Meta reads as zero.

Catalog ads often carry 60%+ of total Meta spend for ecommerce brands. Confusing the two wastes hours and leaves money on the table.

"Do I need to chunk my content and add special schema for AI search?" Depends which search engine you ask.

Google says you don't need chunks, schema or special files to appear in AI search. Microsoft Bing says otherwise.

We put both platforms' documentation side by side, quoted at the source, because none of the 21 competitor pages we read did.

Short answer: the fundamentals didn't change. Where Google and Bing disagree is where you have a decision to make.

Plastic surgeons: a friendly reply to a Google review can turn into a HIPAA problem.

Demand is back. ASPS reported 1,523,330 cosmetic surgical procedures in 2025, up 7%, with breast augmentation up 11% and eyelid surgery up 19%. Most of those patients research surgeons, prices, photos and reviews long before they book a consultation.

What a plastic surgery SEO plan needs in 2026:
- Procedure and cost pages
- HIPAA-safe review replies
- Before-and-after galleries handled properly
- Board certification front and centre
- A plan for AI search
