My third highlighted game of @BCATHOOPS showcased one of the most anticipated matchups of the event as @uppermanhoops squared off against Knox Webb, and this one absolutely lived up to the hype. From the opening tip, you could feel the intensity. Every possession mattered. Every basket had to be earned. Neither team was interested in giving an inch.
Knox Webb came out swinging early and quickly built an early lead behind their aggressive play on both ends of the floor. Upperman, however, showed exactly why they have earned the nickname Killa Bees. They began swarming, fighting through every possession and refusing to let Webb create separation. Despite Webb's strong start, Upperman stayed within striking distance and trailed just 16-12 after the opening quarter.
The second period turned into a defensive slugfest. Both teams cranked up the pressure and made life difficult for one another. There were no easy looks, no easy drives, and certainly no easy points. Webb continued to answer every Upperman challenge and took a hard-fought 28-21 lead into halftime.
Coming out of the half, the Killa Bees found another gear. Upperman increased the defensive pressure, attacked the boards, and began winning the hustle plays. Possession by possession, they chipped away at the deficit before finally storming in front 41-38 heading into the fourth quarter.
The final quarter became a battle of toughness, grit, and composure. The lead changed hands multiple times as both teams landed big shots and answered every run. The pressure continued to build with each possession. Every stop felt huge, and every basket felt bigger. The intensity reached another level as players left everything they had on the floor.
With under thirty seconds remaining, Webb finally delivered the play that proved to be the difference. They regained the lead and came up with the stops they needed down the stretch to survive an absolute barnburner and escape with a hard-fought 61-57 victory.
Knox Webb was led by #1 @armour_bleu, who finished with 20 points and 2 steals while making big plays whenever his team needed them most. Teammate #15 @HustonTorres was equally impressive, adding 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals in a tremendous all-around effort.
@uppermanhoops was led by #0 @tycobbie0, better known as "Silky," who lived up to the nickname with a spectacular performance. Cobb poured in 23 points while adding 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal, keeping the Killa Bees within striking distance all game and delivering one clutch play after another in a game that could have gone either way until the final moments.
