Close. Moved to Ankeny in 2013 bought the farm in 2014. Left to help start the school in 2018 with the plan to come back home.

Bought my first small airplane the same year to allow me to go back and forth as I was doing nearly frequently since 2018 while building the farm and then restoring the house while I was gone.

Was on the ground restoring the farm in much of 2021/2022 (TV show was filmed then) moved back in 2023 after it was finished (which we discussed in the show).

Bought the theater in town in 2023 reopened it and was planning to work on the depot next while we expanded the farm.

The “came back just in time to vote” is very simple: went to vote 2024 and was told I didn’t register when I got my license over a year earlier in 2023. So I registered then and voted.

Had zero intentions of running and had no idea the seat would be open. Was the last person in the race.

If someone gives the timeline just a bit of critical thought none of the conspiracies put out by my opponent or his supporters add up.

What someone will find with critical thought is that I have been working to do what I can to restore our community, build our farming operation while partnering with young farmers to help them get on to land. Improving conservation and water quality on our property, and building a model for farmers to make more money with greater diversity and regenerative practices (which we’ve done and now are helping other farmers do).

All of this was with no intention to run for office but rather because my goal was to make a difference in the areas we have been called to work in. Same reason I got into education.

Now my fight is much bigger and I’m all in to fight for Iowa’s families, heritage, and future.

A farmer should be able to raise animals on his own land, butcher them, and sell the meat directly to his neighbors — without the government treating him like a criminal.

👉It means local food staying local.
👉It means more family farms, fresher food, and stronger communities.
