Garlic Scape Pesto....
Now's the time to make it, the season only lasts about 2 weeks!
So easy to make:
1 cup Parmesan cheese
1 bunch scapes (about 1/4 lb)
1/2 cup olive oil
Blend until smooth
Serve on pasta, condiment, etc.
In June, the early bird gets the worm. Right now on our farm we have lots of birds and not enough worms 😉
On the other hand, some colours of SunPatiens were late to bloom. Now they look great, and are half price!
I can’t let early spring go by without sharing my favourite flower…peonies!
This heritage variety has been growing in our farm garden since 1935.
And it smells even better than it looks!
Our first lupine is blooming!
As you can see, we’re mostly pink…there’s Superbells Magic Pink Lemonade Cali’s along with Calliope Pink geraniums in the terracotta planter, and behind is our century old pink peonies.
Lots of flowers still available if you haven’t planted yet.
Thanks everyone for returning our tags, pots, and trays. We re-use them, so much better than having them end up in landfill!
We welcome them back all season long, please come at your convenience, and if we’re closed, just put them in a sensible place, we’ll find them!
Minicascade Lavender Ivy geranium, enjoying this morning’s gentle rain.
As is this farmer!
We have minicascade red and lavender available in hanging baskets.
Calliope Dark Red geraniums produce some magnificent flowers! We have a good supply of individual plants, planters, and of course hanging baskets. The series comes in other colours too!
Terenzo cherry tomatoes make a great hanging basket. Fantastic flavour, very high yielding, in a compact habit.
I planted this one in January, and have been snacking for a week now. This one is too big to move, but we do have lots of smaller ones that will travel safely!
Just when you’re about to give up on it, hardy hibiscus emerges, long after most other perennials.
This is Luna Red, which is in my garden, we also have rose, white, and pink swirl available.
This is the best lemon grass I’ve ever grown!
I do love how the tips of the roots are lemon yellow, too bad they’re hidden most of the time 🤪
Plant in the ground, or very large pots.
Do you want to grow great tomatoes?
Start with a great root system!
Our heirloom tomatoes are grown in 4.5” pots, just look at the abundance of healthy roots!
Weekend hours: 9-5, and open Monday.
I have a feeling this hanging basket will be at someone else’s home later today!
It has Calliope Dark Red geraniums, Superbells Yellow calibrachoa, and Sweet Heart Green sweet potato vine. Gorgeous!
Hurry and bloom you slowpokes!
Our vigorous series of SunPatiens are slow to bloom this season, but look at all those buds! They’ll start blooming in a few days and won’t stop until frost.
Tiny leaved herbs are so cute!
On the left is Corsican mint, which is no more than an inch tall, but it spreads and spreads. Aristotle is a compact sweet basil, tastes like regular basil, but in a beautiful compact habit. Both are annual s.
Btw, we are open Mondays in the spring!
