@Johnnybwes24890@fag__end@GuillermElodie OK so every advanced country on earth has "barriers to trade" ... AKA regulations! The shellfish regulations were drafted, with UK help, to protect the health of EU consumers by mandating a minimum standard. Same with most food regulations.
@Johnnybwes24890@fag__end@GuillermElodie The UK helped write the regulations in 2007! No point crying about how unfair the EU is when we helped write the rules.
@fag__end@GuillermElodie My local port had a thriving Β£30m a year Mussel exporting industry. It has all closed down due to Brexit! I understand the whole shellfish exporting industry in the UK has gone or is going the same way. 'Breaking free straight' into bankruptcy.
@bethanmsayed It's always been the same. I have two grown up sons so I'm quite familiar with the issues. My point is that the German experience seems to be that moving holidays around hasn't really helped! The grass wasn't greener.
@bethanmsayed Some states in Germany have already made this change and it doesn't seem to be popular with anyone. Teachers don't get enough time to recharge their batteries and no one finds extra holidays in October useful. Especially if you can't afford to fly away on hols.
@HuwMar @Jenga_Ninja I engage with Reform/UKIP all the time, but their ability to engage with logic makes things difficult. "I voted BREXIT to stop all immigration" is an oft heard classic. Logic and reason is helpless against blind faith and/or hate.
