@khights02 @ANativeAngeleno @euronews @OrkneyCouncil When H2 is generated, it is produced using excess wind and tidal power. Orkney generates about 120% of its energy needs from renewables and H2 offers a solution to store this excess and use it to decarbonise the local economy across power, heat and transport.

@khights02 @ANativeAngeleno @euronews @OrkneyCouncil You're right - the H2 used only displaces some of the diesel but it's a step in the right direction. This will still reduce emissions and critically demo use of H2 fuel in marine space. There are many regulatory hurdles to overcome before 100% H2 and HyDIME is a step towards that
