Another dialysis session today. 💔

I remember when I was working hard, chasing my dreams and planning my future. I thought if I worked hard enough, life would eventually reward me.

I never imagined that the same life I was building would one day leave me on a dialysis machine, asking people to help me afford a chance to live.

This journey has humbled me in ways I never imagined. 💔🙏

Trauma will embarass you if you dnt confront it ,it manifests in ways you wouldn't believe. A man raised by a drunk dead beat father grows up watching his father sell and drink everything that is not nailed down . On the first day he visits his inlaws he has a gift of some money, he doesn't just hand it over no . He looks for an opportunity when his father in law has gone to the bathroom and quickly gives his mother in law . " Mama hii ni ya Sukari " he says .
Imagine his shock when mzee comes back and his mother inlaw announces the money , " kijana ametubariki na chai hapa mzee " she says as she shows off the money .
To him every man is a drunkard who can't be trusted with money this is the first man he is seeing that money doesn't have to be hidden from , that kind of programming takes years to unlearn . Very unfortunate.
For years I watched the chairlady elected as treasurer to various chamas , it took a long time to understand that very few women can be trusted with money ,not because they themselves will spend it but because of their husbands . What a shame.
