The incredible story of how a Star Wars fans preserved the only footage of ATTACK OF THE CLONES in IMAX…..
“When George Lucas‘ “Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones” was given an IMAX 70mm release in the fall of 2002, audiences saw a different version of the movie than what had been seen before — or would ever be seen again. Due to the format’s space limitations at the time — IMAX 70mm film platters would only hold two hours of celluloid — the movie was cut down by about 20 minutes, and the entire movie was reframed from the 2.40:1 aspect ratio of the original release to a Lucas-approved 1.81:1 designed to take maximum advantage of the IMAX screen.
Footage from the 1.81:1 version of “Clones” hasn’t been seen since the 2002 IMAX release. When filmmaker V. Trent came into possession of an IMAX 70mm trailer for the film, he knew he had something special. “Presumably due to the heavy restrictions from Lucasfilm Ltd. in 2002, the IMAX feature prints of ‘Episode II’ are now nonexistent,” Trent told IndieWire. “To have a visual archive of the 1.81:1 IMAX aspect ratio is incredible.””

About this OP:
1. Whataboutism isn't a proper counter-argument. PlayStation's move to digital-only is objectively bad for ownership, and "but PC is mostly digital too" doesn't fix that.
2. Outside of Steam, you have GOG with full DRM-free offline installers/exe files. Many Steam games are also DRM-free and can launch without the client (see PCGamingWiki lists). GOG (and some DRM-free Steam) copies can be backed up or even burned to disc — effectively restoring physical media.
3. Preservation sites like myabandonware provide repositories of games publishers have abandoned or refuse to rerelease.
4. Most important in the PlayStation context: Delisted Steam games stay in your library if purchased before. Example: Fable 3, delisted for over a decade, owners can still download and play it.
5. PC is a modding hub. Games get community fixes, enhancements, and longevity far beyond what consoles allow (if modding console games is possible at all).
6. Emulation is a massive preservation advantage. Play old console games (including many PS titles) that will never be rereleased, and with the bells and whistles of emulation software, their experience is enhanced from the console release from FPS boosts, cleaner visuals, higher resolutions, patches etc.
So again, if you are really undertaking the near impossible task of Defending Playstation's horrible "we are phasing out physical media by 2028" decision...you're going to have to do way better than that.
