His name is Storm. He came to Mountain Ridge Shelter in February 2015 as a six-month-old stray - adopted within a month, returned seven weeks later for "destroying furniture." Adopted again in late 2015, back by spring 2016 because "neighbors complained he was too vocal." One more adoption in 2017, returned within six weeks for being "too high-energy for our kids."

After that, people stopped looking at the growing Husky mix. His energy calmed as he aged, his face went completely gray, and he lived in kennel #8 for ten years.

Yesterday, Thomas, 48, who'd just lost his own Husky of sixteen years last September, walked in. Staff tried showing him younger, healthier dogs with fewer behavior issues. Thomas refused all of them and asked specifically: "Which dog has waited here the absolute longest without being chosen?"

We brought out Storm. Thomas knelt beside him, looked at his entirely gray face, and said: "Ten years in a kennel. That's over right now." He signed everything immediately and walked out with Storm that afternoon.

Ten years is 3,650 days behind chain-link and concrete. The wait is finally over. It's never too late for an American shelter dog to finally be chosen.

هذه القضية تسببت في غضب شعبي كبير في الصين وخاصه بعد جملة: رائحتها شهية

اربعة فتيان (جميعهم اقل من 14 عام) كانوا يمشون في قريتهم عندما خطرت لهم فكرة خبيثه: قرروا الاعتداء على كلبة وجرائها وتصوير مقطع والضحك وقال احدهم: رائحتها شهية

ما سبب غضب كبير بين السكان هو ان الكلبه كانت تعيش في القرية ومعروفه لدى الكل ويطعمها البعض ومؤخرا انجبت 3 جراء قبل اسبوعين

وماجعل القصة محزنه: ان الام لم تبتعد عن صغارها رغم معاناتها كانت تهرب وتعود لانها لم تستطع التخلي عنهم وهو ما استغله الفتيان

العقوبة: تم ارسال الفتيان الى مدرسة متخصصة لتقويم وتعليم الاشخاص ذوي السلوكيات الخطرة والزام اولياء أمورهم بتشديد الرقابة عليهم لان في الصين الاشخاص اقل من 14 عام لا يتم محاكمتهم جنائيا الا في حالات خاصة جدا

حاول البعض تبرير الفعل بان الفتيان كانوا يعانون من اسر متفككه والبعض يعاني من حالات نفسيه الا ان الكثير رفض هذا التبرير وغضبوا من الحكم المخفف

I'm still learning how to be still myself." I showed him three dogs. He was putting his jacket on to leave. He stopped outside kennel seven. Luna looked at him from her bed. Didn't perform. Didn't come to the front. Just looked at him the way she looks at people when she decides they're worth seeing. He said — "Can I sit with her?" He sat on the concrete floor at her level. Not the bench. The floor. That was 11am. At 3pm I looked in. He was still there. Her white muzzle was in his hand. Their breathing had synchronized. At 3:15 he came to the front desk and said — "I'd like to take her home. I think we need each other." I excused myself to the back room and sat on an overturned bucket and cried for a long time. He texted me yesterday — "First time I've slept through the night in three years. I think she was saving that for me." She was. Eleven years of saving it. For one Tuesday. For him. Drop a ❤️ for Luna. Share this for every senior dog still waiting for their Tuesday. They're saving everything they have for the right person to walk through that door.
