@dmarty77@nygma0451 Yeah it has a different kind of depth. It's more about grabs, resource management and environmental hazards. But since these are harder to grasp on a glance, the series gets shit on for being button mashy.
@nygma0451 I'd argue 3 has decent enemies too, but yeah. 4 and 5 are not very good in that department. GoW has always had great enemies. 2 is probably the best on that front.
The Lets play discourse is interesting, because the more curious question nobody is asking, is why do so many games feel "experienced" just from watching them?
@space_canti Game is a lot more open-ended compared to 2 and for the worse in my opinion. You can sorta walk past everything and even if you get caught you barely take any damage. Easier to snipe people across the map too.
@CharmVersus There is a big margin of improvement in most PvP games but you get diminishing returns very fast. Just be content of where you land after a while.
@neogeo8man People love to throw this excuse around for HM2 as if HM1 didn't do it already ("high" difficulty as a means of worldbuilding) while also being a good videogame, unlike 2.
"You should play my game, it's like Prince of Persia."
Is it better? Itagaki would have said his game was better.
Ninja Gaiden? Better than DMC.
Dead or Alive? Better than Tekken.
DOA Xtreme Volleyball? Better than uh... Well he made the first Volleyball game ig
@JJunkWarrior Survival is the closest the game comes to fixing them and honestly you just need that level of brutality (actually needing normal kills to make blue essence spawn) plus green essence for scoring. Shorter animations would have helped tho.
@Plasma_Legion One of the major plot points of the movie is how even if you are a valuable employee who has worked there forever you can still be sacrificed in a flash to appease the green line go up gods.
