For us, I told @PiersUncensored, the life of one Palestinian child is worth the world.
I appreciate the journey Piers travelled in reaching the truth, and respect his acknowledgement at the end of this interview the many mistakes committed by mainstream media since Oct 2023 and before. Link to the full interview https://t.co/WaDGuPfppM
UNRWA faces immense financial, political and operational pressure. At the UNRWA Pledging Conference, I called for urgent political and financial support for the Agency. Nearly 5.9 million Palestine refugees depend on its services. Until the two-state solution is achieved, supporting UNRWA means supporting a just and lasting peace—grounded in international law and the UN Charter.
Revoke the association agreement with a government committing genocide. Impose comprehensive sanctions. Ban all trade and business with illegal settlements. Penalise UK companies profiting from the occupation and war crimes.
My briefing to UK Parliament — ahead of next week’s important and long overdue parliamentary debate.
H.E. Ambassador @hzomlot took part in a parliamentary briefing yesterday in preparation for a Backbench Business Debate on “a ban on trade with illegal Israeli settlements”.
Dr Zomlot spoke about the impact of Israel’s colonial settler enterprise on Palestinian sovereignty and security. The briefing was hosted and chaired by Abtisam Mohamed MP.
Good to be with so many friends and colleagues tonight at @LFPME.
The Labour Party’s commitment to justice, freedom and security for Palestinians is unwavering.
Thank you @YvetteCooperMP , @LucyMPowell, @HFalconerMP, @hzomlot and the PLP for joining our annual Summer Reception last night, and to our co-Chairs Sarah Owen and @JamesAsser
We re-affirmed our commitment to peace, accountability and a two-state solution.
Last night I was proud and inspired to attend It Sounds Like Courage at the Royal Festival Hall — a breathtaking evening of music, poetry and solidarity with refugees. @NaiBarghouti’s performance was luminous, her flute and voice filling that great hall with beauty and defiance. Accompanied by the London Contemporary Orchestra, she brought to life the words of professor and poet Refaat Alareer, who wrote this poem weeks before an Israeli airstrike killed him and members of his family.
If I Must Die
If I must die,
you must live
to tell my story
to sell my things
to buy a piece of cloth
and some strings,
(make it white with a
long tail)
so that a child,
somewhere in Gaza
while looking heaven
in the eye
awaiting his dad who
left in a blaze —
and bid no one
farewell
not even to his flesh
not even to himself —
sees the kite, my kite
you made, flying up
above,
and thinks for a
moment an angel is
there
bringing back love.
If I must die
let it bring hope,
let it be a tale.
A UN enquiry has concluded in a harrowing report released today that Israel is committing #genocide in #Gaza by deliberately targeting children, adding to overwhelming evidence of systematic attacks on journalists and medical staff. The findings are compelling — a British doctor, Nizam Mamode, recently returned from Gaza corroborates the conclusion, stressing the importance of medical eyewitnesses given Israel’s killing of Palestinian journalists and banning of foreign press.

"Is it difficult coming back?"
Surgeon professor Nizam Mamode, who was working in Gaza a few weeks ago: "Yes"
"How do you feel when you return?"
"I feel quite angry that this country.. is letting this genocide go by and doing nothing about it"
H.E. Ambassador @hzomlot receiced today a delegation from High Education Scholarships for the Palestinian People (HESPAL).
The two sides discussed the contributions and support for Palestinian academia.

On the second day of my pilgrimage in the Holy Land with Archbishop Hosam, we visited the Anglican community in Birzeit, Palestine.

It was a great joy to meet with Layan Nasir in Birzeit yesterday after her release from Israeli prison.
Layan is a Palestinian Christian who worships at St Peter’s Anglican Church in Birzeit.
I’m grateful to Layan’s family for their hospitality in their home. I will pray for them, and for God’s blessing and healing for Layan after the terrible ordeal of her incarceration.
I pray for the release of all people who have been unjustly imprisoned, here in Palestine and Israel and around the world.
Meet Abeer and Shaban Zomlot, mourning the murder of their mother, Taghreed Zomlot, in northern Gaza yesterday. Abeer is heard asking how she will break the news to her youngest sister, Leen, who is 14 years old.
Taghreed was 51, a mother of six, and my cousin. She was hanging clothes to dry in a yard of her semi-destroyed home in Beit Lahia when an Israeli drone shot her in the back and killed her instantly.
Taghreed is one of dozens of my family killed— cousins I grew up with, lives erased for refusing to leave their homes.
Taghreed was among 10 people killed yesterday, and among more than 1,000 Palestinians killed by Israel since President Trump’s ceasefire and peace plan announcement last October.
There is no ceasefire. There is no peace. While millions mobilise around the world to stop the genocide and end the occupation, governments choose empty statements over action. The killings continue with impunity.
#Gaza #Palestine
Honoured and inspired to meet with the @thegreenparty bloc in the U.K. Parliament. Looking forward to working together to advance our shared principles.
H.E. Ambassador @hzomlot met yesterday @TheGreenParty bloc in the UK Parliament. He discussed the latest developments and thanked them for their solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Prime Minister Dr Mohammed Mustafa Discusses with British Minister Ways to Overcome the Difficult Political and Economic Reality of Our People
RAMALLAH,
Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa discussed with the British Minister of State for the Middle East, @HFalconerMP, ways to enhance joint cooperation to confront the political and economic challenges facing the Palestinian people. They also discussed advancing the political track based on the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the New York Declaration issued last year as one of the outcomes of the High-Level International Conference for Settling the Palestinian Question, in a manner that supports the implementation of the two-state solution according to a comprehensive, binding roadmap and a clear timeframe.
This came during a phone call received by the Prime Minister today, Wednesday, from Minister Falconer. During the call, Mustafa reviewed the latest developments in the Palestinian territories, chief among them the escalation of settler attacks and settlement expansion in the West Bank, including Jerusalem. This is in addition to the stalling of transitional arrangements following the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, and the accompanying deterioration of the humanitarian and living conditions of the citizens.
Mustafa emphasized the importance of intensifying international efforts to protect the Palestinian people and halt unilateral Israeli measures that undermine the chances of achieving peace and stability. He stressed the need to provide the necessary political and economic support to strengthen the resilience of citizens and enable Palestinian institutions to fulfill their duties.
The call also touched upon prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Palestine and Britain, especially following the United Kingdom's recognition of the State of Palestine. The two sides discussed ways to support the Palestinian economy and mitigate the impact of Israeli measures that hinder its growth, including the continued withholding of clearance (tax) revenues, the Shekel accumulation crisis, and illegal measures targeting the Palestinian private sector, particularly the banking sector.
In this context, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of the international community assuming its responsibilities to stop Israeli policies that violate international law. He called on Britain to take more effective steps to deter settlement activity in light of its noticeable escalation, particularly the "E1" settlement plan, given the grave threat it poses to the chances of establishing an independent Palestinian state.
Mustafa called for additional practical measures, including banning settlement goods and activating international accountability mechanisms, to ensure respect for international law and resolutions of international legitimacy, thereby contributing to the protection of the two-state solution and preserving the chances of achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
The question is, what will the guarantors of the status quo of Jersalem's holiest sites, including the UK and the rest of the international community, going to do about it?
Israel has no sovereignty over Hebron or any part of occupied Palestinian territory. Smotrich’s move to strip Hebron Municipality of its authority, including over Ibrahimi Mosque, is a blatant violation of int. law.
These illegal measures are void. Int. community must act now.
