Yesterday, I was at the @QVSR1 for the unveiling of the @EnglishHeritage blue plaque for Kamal Chunchie.

This is a long awaited memorial to Kamal Chunchie, a pioneering campaigner and preacher on a building that continues his work to provide shelter and support.

I met with London Sport to hear about their plans in West Ham and Beckton.

They are investing in Newham where we have a fast growing population and interest in sport. They’re keen to work with local people, sports and community groups to identify the need and demand here.

Words of condemnation have so far done little to deter ongoing violations.

We must now act to pressure Israeli authorities to adhere by the terms of the ceasefire, protect intl law, increase aid and humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians, and uphold accountability.

It's making walking, wheeling & cycling safer & more accessible for everyone.

Work include new paths & lighting from Beckton DLR to Beckton Park - connecting local communities to green spaces in the area.

Great to visit Rosetta Arts in West Ham on Thursday with Debbie Weekes-Bernard, Deputy Mayor of London for Communities, to help launch their journey as a @MayorofLondon funded Loved & Wanted community space.

I was lucky to be invited to watch @GallionsSchool perform Macbeth. Their performance was really impressive as were the other Newham schools taking part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival @cssf_uk

I hosted an event in Parliament celebrating Bulgaria’s national day of enlightenment, culture and the Bulgarian alphabet.

It was great to learn more about the history Bulgarian script and hear from English students studying Bulgarian at UCL.

I recently met with @certain_blacks to hear about their plans for their funding from the Creative Foundation Fund.

They’ve got lots of exiting upcoming projects and collaborations, including this summer so keep an eye out for announcements!

It was great to meet trustees, volunteers and organisations at the opening of the new Newham Community Law Project.

This has been a long time coming and I know for my constituents that having specialist support based in our community will make a huge difference.
