Privileged that CAS released ‘Icon of the Sky’ — a tribute to the MiG-21 in the @IAF_MCC as much as history of the type!
Co-authored with and expanding on the work of the late Pushpindar Singh & Air Mshl Philip Rajkumar. An honour to leave our imprint on the Indian MiG-21 story!
A good read for the IAF history enthusiasts and experts.

Some rare photos of the Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh.
The last photo is of the plantation of a Chinar Tree when he was the Chief. Wonder where it is. Almost 60 years since it was planted. Would be a great nod to the Marshal if @IAF_MCC could share the photo of the tree as it stands today.

On this day in 1961, the Indian Air Force welcomed its first Antonov An-12B aircraft, marking a significant boost to its heavy airlift capabilities. This aircraft played a crucial role in airlifting army reinforcements during the 1962 Sino-Indian War and was later utilized as a heavy bomber during the 1971 India-Pakistan War. One of these historic An-12Bs is preserved at the Indian Air Force Museum at Palam, New Delhi.
