AND THERE’S A REASON. He knows #Avengers arrives on the 18th. He knows #King follows just six days later, on the 24th. He knows Avengers will dominate multiplex showcasing initially. He knows the South especially Tamil Nadu and Kerala will be extremely tough. Yet #King stays.

Because perhaps the objective was never simply to chase a ₹700 crore or ₹1000 crore number. The bigger objective is the clash itself.

After 5–6 days, Avengers’ multiplex showcasing will naturally start coming down, while King can build its own space with 60% shows in Hindi films dominating centres across North, West Central India and East India, also big cities of Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will also help….

Yes, the clash will cost King 30% of its potential business. But that is precisely what makes the eventual number more powerful. If King does ₹500 crore against a global giant, you cannot look at that number the same way you would look at a solo release, the business film potentially loses because of the clash, the picture becomes even bigger.

Because this is no longer just a film versus a film. It is India’s biggest Hindi Superstar standing his ground against one of the biggest global film franchises. And that, perhaps, is the real statement Shah Rukh Khan wants to make.

Superstars don’t always choose the easiest road… Sometimes, they choose the road that proves a point.
