If you promised my meal in 20 minutes and it's still not ready after 45 minutes, the problem is service delivery not the customer.
The F&B manager should hold the responsible team accountable, not force a guest to pay for food they never received.
I walked into a restaurant today and placed my order. They told me my food would be ready in 20 minutes, so I waited.
After 45 minutes, the food still wasn’t ready. While I was waiting, I got an important call that required me to leave immediately.
As I was about to leave, one of the staff stopped me and said I couldn’t go unless I paid for the food, even though it hadn’t been served or was still not ready.
I refused, stood my ground, and left without paying.
Later, I told a friend what happened, and he said I was wrong that I should have paid anyway.
Now I’m curious… if you were in my shoes, would you have paid for food that wasn’t ready or served, or would you have done exactly what I did?
The F and B manager is to ensure that the team on duty should pay and not you.Thats the standard in the food industry. Most times this happens because they run an À La Carte Catering Style.

I am not afraid of putting in the work that others avoid.
My hands are capable and my mind is focused.
Hard work is not a burden to me; it is the path I have chosen.
I embrace the grind because I know what is waiting on the other side.
I am a Global Force.
One of the biggest challenges I've faced in my 20s is that I've mastered the art of bottling up my feelings. I'll laugh from morning till night, look put together, teach my students, and do my job excellently, but deep down, I'm not fine. Thankfully, I'm gradually unlearning.
Seriously, this happened this evening i was looking for my charger and my battery was flat, omo I cried because I can't be going through pain and looking for my charger at the same time 😭
One thing nobody tells you about grief is that it attaches itself to the smallest inconveniences. You stub your toe. Your internet is acting up. The food doesn’t taste good. It starts raining when you had plans. None of those things have anything to do with the person you lost. But somehow, they do.
Suddenly, you’re remembering your dad. You’re irritated. You’re angry. You abandon whatever you were doing, crawl into bed, and cry.
