The species was collected at Tomohon by the Sarasins in 1894, described by Schumann in 1899 and illustrated in 1904 (shown).
It was a great honour to meet this incredible woman, Dr. Ana Maria Giullietii Harley! She is a Brazilian botanist and was the supervisor of many Brazilian botanists, such as my PhD supervisor. She was a pioneer in the studies of the plants from the Campos Rupestres!
