HONG KONG AIDILADHA TRIP 2026 (Part 4)
For our past overseas holiday trips, I feel like we’re over-relying on Google Maps or Citymapper apps for navigation that we missed out one of the core ‘must dos’ while traveling, that is to interact with the locals.
Then we felt like we’re so tied up with the travel schedules and plans that we lost the ‘adventurous’ element, the feel that we’ve really ‘explored’ the place.
Dengan ertikata lain, we’ve minimised the possibility of being ‘sesat’ at the place and threw away the thrill of discovering how to get back on track.
Jadi untuk Hong Kong trip tu, we decided not to rely too much on apps. Bila tak sure, we reverted to the old fashioned way… tanya orang.
But of course, ada challenge juga bila locals yang kita approach tu tak reti English. But then again, that’s how people have been looking for directions before the internet kan? That’s the thrill of it. Communications.
Contoh waktu tanya orang camner nak pergi Avenue of Stars, aku siap buat Bruce Lee fighting stance.
Finally they understood that we’re going to the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade where there’s a Bruce Lee statue😁
HONG KONG AIDILADHA TRIP 2026 (Part 3)
Kalau pi Hong Kong tapi tak singgah Macau rasa macam tak complete pulak. So the following day we took a one hour ferry from Hong Kong to that place famously dubbed as the ‘Las Vegas Of The East’.
It’s my second time in Macau + it was Nani’s first. We decided to go on a weekday, off-peak so the ferry tickets are cheaper with lesser crowd.
Unless you’re traveling on weekends or public holidays, you don’t need to buy the ferry tickets online in advance.
Beli terus kat ferry terminal at the counter + chances are you’ll get the next available ferry. And just beli one-way. So you don’t have to rush to catch the returning ferry.
Despite what Google tells you, board the ferry from Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan. Because you’d embark at Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, which is closer to the attractions.
Sampai Macau waktu nak call UBER, ada few ladies haggling us selling organised tour around Macau. One of them was from Indonesia.
Told her, “saya sudah biasa kemari”.
She asked us why didn’t I take the free shuttle bus to The Venetian instead of paying for UBER.
“Cuacanya panas. Saya malas beratur”; I said. Begitulah
HONG KONG AIDILADHA TRIP 2026 (Part 2)
The following day we took the MTR from Jordan Street to Hong Kong Disneyland.
If you’ve ‘trained’ your IG or TikTok algorithm to feature content on Hong Kong, you’ll find many ‘tips’ for visiting this smallest Disney park. So here I’m listing a few.
Tip #1: Avoid visiting Hong Kong Disneyland during weekends, public holidays and school holidays.
Tip #2: If you follow Tip #1, you don’t actually need to purchase the Early Entry or the Premier Access to skip the queues at the rides. And general admission tickets during non-peak days are also cheaper.
Tip #3: Even if you follow the previous two tips, start queuing at Hong Kong Disneyland gates before it’s opened at 10am. Why?
HONG KONG AIDILADHA TRIP 2026 (Part 1)
It’s my third visit to Hong Kong. There I was again after 29 years. The first time was to attend a seminar. The second time was for a study visit to museums in Hong Kong + Macau. The third time merely as tourists with my better half.
Dari Hong Kong International Airport, we called a UBER to take us to our hotel in Kowloon. Sini takder Grab jadi kena install UBER app. And our UBER was a Tesla.
Family iftar before Raya.
Dapur Darling Shah Alam is a nice, cozy + affordable restaurant with immaculate service. However, recommended to make prior reservations. The Nasi Tomato was one of the best I’ve tasted

Nani’s belated birthday lunch.
First time dining at kbbSteak + I’m really impressed with the ambience and service. The steak served is one of the best I’ve tasted. And certified Halal too. Will definitely come again

The kids treated me for my 56th birthday dinner ❤️.
And since birthday boy nak nasi briyani from an authentic Indian restaurant, so nasi briyani at an authentic Indian restaurant it is @ Frangipaani KL

Elan’s birthday celebration. Parking issues with Sri Hartamas aside, I kind of like Niku Niku Yakiniku better than the identical one we’ve been in Shah Alam.
Will come here again… if the kids would drive us

Bawa Ayah Mak dinner at my favorite dining in Loqstaq. IMHO of all eateries of its kind that I’ve frequented, this is at the top of the list @ Smoll Private Dining, Alor Setar

M. NASIR - CIPTA 3: SATU TESTIMONI SIFU
Singalong ketika lagu Mahligai Syahdu bak kata orang Indonesia… amat merinding. Mungkin itulah crowd singalong terbaik dalam keseluruhan ciri Cipta.
Satu benda saya perasan. Anak perempuan saya bukanlah peminat tegar M. Nasir.
Mungkin itulah genius M. Nasir.
Macam lagu ‘Pembakar Perasaan’. Last dengar lagu tu waktu kat sekolah di tahun 80an. Dah lupa dah lirik.
I meant what I said to Iman. He’s the best concert organiser and promoter in Malaysia right now. The only one who really understands what ‘immersive concert experience’ is about.
Cipta 2 was still the most enjoyable concert experience for me. But Cipta 3 was the most heartfelt of the series.
Here’s to Cipta 20!!!

PHUKET FAMILY TRIP 2025: DAY 3 (15/9/2025)
Andaman Beach Hotel Phuket is a nice, cozy + affordable boutique hotel in Patong Beach area.
It’s not exactly by the seaside but it only takes about 5 minutes walk to the beach and 8 minutes to the Beach Town
PHUKET FAMILY TRIP 2025: DAY 2 (14/9/2025)
It’s morning at the beach! I was amazed with how amazingly clean Patong Beach is. Aku nak buang puntung rokok pun usaha cari tong sampah.
The kids got their wishlist fulfilled, to ride on a jetski. And it’s way cheaper compared to the one in Langkawi or Port Dickson. Here it’s only around RM260 for half an hour. Yes… for 30 minutes.
I didn’t allow them to go parasailing, after myself had a bad experience in Penang many years ago.
Then we walked back to the hotel + get ready for lunch and an afternoon at Patong Town
PHUKET FAMILY TRIP: DAY 1 (13/9/2025)
Tapi wife kata baru hari tu je pi Jakarta. Then Perth came into the picture. Tapi punyalah renyah proses nak apply visa.
So last last, okay, since tak pernah jejak kaki ke Phuket, kita pi Phuket lah.
