IA Information Day is about so much more than hearing from the experts. It is also about connecting with others, sharing experiences and realising that you are not alone.
Thank you so much for this kind feedback.
IA member, Andrew, has been working to make everyday places more stoma-friendly by donating stoma packs to venues such as football grounds.

Happy Easter! For many, Easter is an opportunity to relax and spend time with family and friends. If you have an ileostomy or internal pouch, you may find some foods, such as currants, do not always suit. Everyone is different, and it is about finding what works for your body.
Join us on 25 April in Kenilworth for a day of expert talks, practical workshops and the opportunity to connect with others who may have an ileostomy or internal pouch.

Tertia opted for a J Pouch in 2008. Tertia told us, "There has been so much body positivity surrounding ileostomies recently....so with the knowledge I now have, I don’t think I would opt for J-pouch surgery.”

It appears there are a lot of illnesses doing the rounds again.
Our resident dietitian, Sophie Medlin, advises those who have an internal pouch to try a liquid powder probiotic as delayed-release capsules may not be so effective.
