@iste do you maintain a "list" of online student assessment programs that have been vetted? Looking for a program to implement sooner rather than later but my school has some unique characteristics. Looking to progress monitor. Thanks!
This is an epidemic: half of all high school students in MA have tried vaping. Students are using e-cigarettes at higher rates than adults.
The FDA is taking the right step here. Our investigation into #JUUL continues. https://t.co/r9mIlhr2EX
There’s no better feeling than meeting with elected officials who “get it”. Mayor Carpenter helped to get Independence Academy started and he knows that the MA RHSs are doing great work and need adequate funding. We appreciate your support! https://t.co/kItiob1eAX
Thank you for bringing some of our challenges to light @wbur. We're looking forward to the weeks ahead as funding for Recovery High Schools gets sorted out. The students who attend our schools need our support. https://t.co/8bY005IYHy
"This is the best school I’ve been to. Before I came here, I was doing a lot of drugs, but now I have a place where I can be myself and be supported as I figure out what makes me, me, without any substances." https://t.co/ajKYaB1XmR
@KeithNHumphreys @DrSarahWakeman We are doing the same here in MA. We’d love to connect on what’s working legislatively for CA and share where we are at in MA. MA is one of very few states who give public $ to run recovery high schools but we need more resources.
I'm working with lots of great people in the House and Senate on opioid-related legislation, but am struck by how we keep trying to deal with addiction through short-term grants instead of integrating treatment permanently into the financing and structure of American health care.
We’ll keep saying it...Opioid use a huge concern, however it is overshadowing very dangerous use of other substances like Gabapentin, Adderall, dextromethorphan (cold medicine). The “epidemic” is bigger than opioids. https://t.co/lEUq4FGN9V
Very similar to the Opioid Crisis. Use of substances, dropping out, self-harm, anxiety, depression, bullying, and so on...all of it requires more than just tackling the presenting issue. Addressing the causes and identifying those most at risk & building protective factors is key https://t.co/w0E5jbuyyt
