Somewhere in 2018, a story took me to Nyaka in Bizana, EC.

I met a charismatic little girl named Limnandi Makhedama, who lived close to where we were crossing live. 

She had pleaded with her dad to bring her to us so she could say hello. 

So, we spent some time with her, explained our work and took a few pictures. 

Limnandi was 6 then, full of talent and promise. 

I received a message today saying she is participating in the Miss Teen Universe SA, a testament to the confidence and intelligence she so clearly displayed back then.

Her dad says she joined a modelling academy two years ago. 

I wish Limnandi all the best in this competition, and all she sets out to achieve in the future. 

Let’s show her some support - she’s on Instagram and Facebook. I’m certain she will be unstoppable.

Police are urging anyone with information on 2 year old Kutlwano Shalaba’s whereabouts to contact Sgt Thembeka Maxambela on 079 695 1338 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

It is alleged that on Sunday, 10 November 2024, his mother, Keneilwe Shalaba sold Kutlwano Shalaba (2).

Shalaba was arrested on 19 November 2024 and is facing charges of human trafficking, conspiracy to commit robbery, and providing false information to the police.
