I wanted to share what the Holy Spirit has been working in my heart and mind recently because I feel like the tongue is something that people don’t necessarily think on how impactful it directs our lives and our walk with God if we’re believers.

Yesterday I listened to a sermon from @Woodland_Hills when Pastor @greg_boyd preached on James 3:1-12 on #WatchYourMouth. Felt the #HolySpirit convict me - not always building others up, speaking the Truth of the Word, or my words aligning with the Word.

Thinking back to when I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior 19 years ago in the Spring 2007 semester in college to know, my words weren’t used to build others up (especially othe believers) and the Spirit used Pastor Greg’s words to remind me of how impactful my words could be.

Struggle in acceptance, struggle in accepting the sin I poured out onto this world and accepting that God doesn’t “fix things” as fast as I ought Him to “solve.” I say that in that, I believe, God wants us to see the sin in this world to see His grace, His love, His mercy.

God’s love for us doesn’t make any sense to me either but we all need His love, His grace, His mercy, His favor, because we cannot do it on our own. No matter how hard we try, our sin makes us fall short.
