I really pray you find a good church; a faithful shepherd who will labor over you, and a loving Christian family you can be accountable to,
So you wonât have to depend on x for doctrine or be swayed by plenty opinions here.
I really hope you do.
If you opened IG and saw a reel from your Pastor and the reel song was say Asake or Mavo, you'd be shocked abi? No wam
But you make reels using the same set of songs and you're fine.
You expect some level of consecration from your Pastors but you think you're exempted from displaying same level consecration.
If you expect that level of consecration from your Pastors, it also applies to you.
If you look at Christians with a secular mind, what they do is a sign of mental illness.
Imagine someone standing by the road side, under the sun and shouting "Jesus died for you"
Imagine someone standing up randomly in a bus/train/plane just to discuss about an event that happened 2,000 years ago.
As a lukewarm Christian, i questioned so many things, i thought it wasn't necessary.
Seeing Christians do that made me feel uncomfortable.
Until i encountered Jesus Christ.
I was in deep struggle, walking down a path that was leading to death, until i experienced his saving power.
I was saved, redeemed and he gave me a new name.
This made me understand why those Christians had to "disturb" everybody with their message.
They found something money could not buy
But the world never stopped mocking them for their testimony.
Jesus saved me, and now i have become what i once criticized!
You can just focus on the versions you prefer.
I think this thing we do when we take digs at some version is at best pretentious and wicked when we can just read the ones that we think are sound.
Weâve become such a whiny bunch. Read the one you have and let us rest please.
ââŠ..right in front of unbelievers!â
1 Corinthians 6:6 NLT
Some of these conversations happen because we havenât discerned the Lordâs body.
You donât see Christians as your brothers and sisters. You donât really believe youâre one with fellow believers.
You confess that youâre one with Christ, but have you ever professed that youâre one with the body of Christ, his church?
You will never attack your biological father on social media because of his political opinion or because he believes a doctrine you donât subscribe to. But youâre so comfortable insulting older ministers of the gospel, you even think youâre doing the right thing.
All this âright in front of unbelievers!â
@TheChristophany@RasineIrem Your heart's in the right place, but the premise is off: if he was to thank anyone for that privilege, it's wouldn't be his members, but the One Who trusts him with the role.
To his members he owes trustworthiness and consistency, not thanks.
We teach our kids to thank us after weâve served them food.
I have a 4 year old and when I serve him food he is taught to eat and say âthank you dad for the foodâ.
He didnât have to say âthank youâ at 4 months and even at 4 years he wonât de denied food because he didnât say âthank youâ the last time.
At my age my dad still gives me stuff and I thank him profusely, I was the same one who he fed at 4 months, 4 years and now that Iâm slowly approaching 40.
When we say âthank youâ it tells more about the person that we are than about the responsibility of the person weâre thanking.
Iâm a pastor myself and honestly understand that itâs the right of those I pastor to have access to me. However, Iâve noticed that people who are grateful for that access are often people who donât abuse it.
Gratitude speaks more about who you are than what the responsibility of the object of gratitude is.
Read the gospels, Jesus commends gratitude as a virtue even though it wasnât a condition for his benevolence.
Iâve it with me, Infact I carry it along when I go for evangelism.
Met a Christian that doesnât believe in the holy ghost baptism, I brought out my Bible and raised it up and asked her if she believes the word, then I showed her where itâs written.
She had no option than to believe.
You are not doing the world a favor for hosting the World Cup.
You bid to host it because of the advantage that comes with hosting it.
You should not deny millions of fans the right to see their countries play the beautiful football.
If you think your national security is at risk, transfer the right to another country to do so.
Football is bigger than you, itâs everyoneâs sport.
In old Roman cultures, it was law that if you were a young widow whose husband just died, you had to be married within two years. Thereâs no reason for women to live except you were married to a man, it was required, whether you wanted to or not, Caesar said.
But the Christian community supported widows so they didnât have to get married if they didnât want to.
Women flocked to Christianity. The reason was simple: they saw a dignity to their lives, a new humanity, that it utterly began to change the social order.
Men, at some point, you have to grow up.
Put down the endless video games. Stop obsessing over toys, collectibles, and entertainment. The world doesn't need more 27-year-old boys. It needs men of character, conviction, and responsibility.
Open your Bible. Pursue Christ. Lead your family. Serve your church. Build something that outlives you.
The time for childish things is running out.
Spiritual leadership over average Christians today is so weird because too many only see Jesus as a nice guy who showed a pattern of good morals that leads to famed greatness.
So when they meet a Christian leader who speaks emphatically about the real Jesus and His real virtues like self-denial, sacrifice and doing the will of God even if it hurts, they consider him an overzealous sadist who can't lead them to the path of greatness that they crave.
They will still speak highly of preachers that emphasise sanctification and consecration, but they only see them as a "balance" tool to keep them sane from the overdose of conversations in the direction of 'Takeover' and strategic positioning for Dominion" aka ...'I pass my neighbour.'
Why do so many people who have little interest in being and living like Jesus want to be mentored by messengers of Christ?
Because for many of them, the idea is to find a way to succeed according to worldly parameters while hopefully escaping the horrors of hell and the perversion of demons.
So, Jesus is the one who can help them attain the glories of this world while also enjoying the riches of Heaven.
It's just a simple case of using Jesus for premium pleasure and selfish ambition.
The real god they serve is the fame, greatness, and glory of this world, and Jesus is just the insurance that guarantees the same on the other side of eternity.
My life changed the moment I met Christ.
Stammering gone.
Bed wetting gone.
Became great in Academics.
Delay gone.
I am not where I used to be. My life is in a far better place with Christ.
It's been 16years with Christ. đȘđ»
I missed the last train in Seoul once.
Phone at 3%. Didnât speak Korean. It was raining, freezing, and I had no idea where I was supposed to go.
I tried calling an Uber but my card kept failing because of my bank fraud protection. Perfect timing.
I was standing outside the station looking completely defeated when this older woman walked up to me and started speaking Korean. I told her I didnât understand.
She pulled out her phone translator and typed:âYou are lost?â
I nodded.
She asked where I was staying, looked at the address, then motioned for me to follow her.
This woman walked me almost 15 minutes through side streets, holding her umbrella over both of us while I apologized every thirty seconds.
When we got to my hotel, I tried offering her cash for helping me.
She looked genuinely offended.
Typed into the translator again:âIf my son was lost somewhere, I hope someone helps him too.â
Then she bowed and walked away in the rain before I could even process what happened.
Some places still treat strangers like human beings first.
Marry someone who knows Jesus genuinely
Not a church goer
Iâm not saying he or she plays Elevation worship on Saturdays when doing chores
Iâm saying someone who has been to the cross and has met Jesus for real
It is the fear of God that keeps your spouse faithful
One of the most anointed man in scripture who could pick the frequency from heaven and interpret any dream was in government for more than 4 dispensation of kings
I donât know who told believers that politics is not for us
We left it for wicked men now we are crying
Apostle Joshua Selman donated relief materials and cash worth âŠ200,000,000 to victims in Plateau State.
Pastor Jerry Eze, through his foundation, has disbursed over âŠ1,000,000,000 to entrepreneurs across various fields.
You won't see this in the media because their agenda is against Jesus and His Kingdom.
The internet constantly tells women that men are terrible listeners because the second a woman starts venting about her day, the man immediately interrupts to offer a logical solution. We are taught to view this as him being dismissive, emotionally unintelligent, or invalidating our feelings.
âThe strict, unpopular truth is that to a man, fixing the problem is his absolute highest, most desperate form of empathy.
âWomen vent to connect; we want our partner to just sit in the dark with us and validate the emotion. But men are hardwired to view the woman they love being in distress as an active threat. When he immediately offers a spreadsheet, a strategy, or a solution to your problem, he isn't trying to silence you. His brain has recognized that something in the world is hurting his partner, and his immediate, visceral instinct is to assassinate the thing causing you pain.
We constantly shame men for "not just listening," completely ignoring the fact that his attempt to fix your life is his most profound declaration of love.
