🏡 Indiana’s housing market remains strong! In April 2026, 1,900 single-family building permits were issued, up 4% from March. While permits are down 6% from April 2025 and year-to-date totals are 4% below last year, Indiana continues to lead the Midwest in single-family permits.

The U.S. Census Bureau recently released statewide totals for building permits issued in March and shows 1,824 single-family permits were pulled. The 1,824 permits pulled in March of 2026 are up 45% from the 1,256 permits pulled in February of 2026.
