@bumbadum14 Source for this? From what I understood it's not so much that it's not at all true but that it was not nearly as widespread or ignored as claimed. It also doesn't necessarily seem to be some attack on men, only that the 80% men statistic likely contributed to this (obviously..?)
@Star_TheFell @KiedaAzure @nyaraVT To clarify, what they do is already illegal, pretending/dressing up is just a method to do that illegal act and they'll do it, law or not.
@Star_TheFell @KiedaAzure @nyaraVT Yeah, that's just one of those things that technically happen, but it's at such a miniscule degree that you can't really target it with laws. The problem is primarily social, some people feel uncomfortable, not that some trans or trans-pretenders are creeps/predators.
@KiedaAzure @Star_TheFell@caveman_will@nyaraVT There are changes which are reversible, others which aren't. As for puberty blockers, they affect things like the skeleton in a way which isn't reversible.
@KiedaAzure @Star_TheFell@caveman_will@nyaraVT One thing I think would be a massive improvement would be gender neutral bathrooms. I think it'll be difficult to police gendered bathrooms no matter how we twist and turn things to figure things out, but a gender neutral one is easy.
@KiedaAzure @Star_TheFell@caveman_will@nyaraVT Trans people are trans people, predators are predators. Predators just happen to use the tools available, but the tool is not at fault. So that's part of what I initially wrote about this, that society isn't really prepared for it. Cont...
@KiedaAzure @Star_TheFell@caveman_will@nyaraVT Oh, absolutely. I think the primary difference is that with HRT it's essentially impossible to revert the changes. So when I hear people talking about making it much easier to get HRT, that just scares me, because I've been in the same situation as you.
@BladeoftheS The next thing to do would be to change the attitude that people have towards taxes. A lot of people do not really see what they receive from paying taxes, they only see the money leaving their pockets. Then some corruption or fraud scandal pops up and reinforces that.
@BladeoftheS There's a few things I'd be concerned about in the case of the US in particular. Corruption and inefficiency being the two primary issues. You really need to have that dealt with. Then you also need to have the tax system dealt with, modernize it.
@Star_TheFell @KiedaAzure @caveman_will@nyaraVT By the way, thanks for being respectful, it's an uncommon thing on this platform. There have been some thorns here and there, but when there are so many horrible people I understand it's easy to assume the worst of people and be affected by it, I know I unfortunately tend to.
@Star_TheFell @KiedaAzure @caveman_will@nyaraVT I 100% agree, though I'd take it a step further and say that the Democrats don't ignore men, they vilify them. A lot of societal issues exist because of mental health issues in men so it's an atrocity that it's intentionally ignored. It just makes things worse.
@Star_TheFell @KiedaAzure @caveman_will@nyaraVT I'm not sure exactly what specific awareness is necessary in regards to trans identity and gender dysphoria, but it'd most likely just be a good thing. I try to keep myself updated, so I've understood that stuff for ages, but I know that others don't care as much.
@Star_TheFell @KiedaAzure @caveman_will@nyaraVT I think part of the reason why there's such little regret is because of how strict things are. Because the people who do it are the ones who truly want it.
@Star_TheFell @KiedaAzure @caveman_will@nyaraVT Yes, and that's exactly what should be avoided. That's why I call it a last resort. It is the final stop for the train, you have to pass all other stops before that.
@esjesjesj We know it happened, so what are the real numbers then? I think that's the big issue here, it was all covered up so we don't even know what the real situation is like.
@onemalaikaa Yes, but it needs to be proven that it was intentionally done for retaliatory or similar reasons. Filing a false crime report is generally illegal and in my country results in up to 2 years in prison. I've never heard of it being applied for a false rape accusation though.
@Star_TheFell @KiedaAzure @caveman_will@nyaraVT I believe it's all about the same case, but just pick your poison.
