Instead of trying to propagandize children to hug trees and recycle garbage, our schools would be put to better use teaching them how to analyze and test what is said by people who advocate tree-hugging, recycling, and innumerable other causes across the political spectrum.
The point is not to teach them correct conclusions but to teach them to be able to use their own minds to analyze the issues that will come up in the years ahead, which may have nothing to do with recycling or any of the other issues of our time.
@MagnusHeystek I'm prudently wary of him, as I know the orientation of my moral compass. Only he knows his heart and morals. One individual having so much influence, access to information & money automatically creates a central point of control / failure and thus an existential threat to all.
@ZubyMusic I agree. I just can't help and wonder if some of the big bully countries are going to pitch up and help themselves as we've seen so often throughout history. Especially in Africa. I hope for the people of Nigeria they get left alone to do what they want with regards to trade etc.
Talk about torturing the facts until they confess! You can't go back in time and then select 3 funds that shot the lights out and then say "you should have invested in the JSE" to prove a point. I can retort and say look at the share price Monster Inc.. up 8000% over 20 years..
@antoinedlmsa@ParmesanCodice@MagnusHeystek And your point being?
The S&P500 is not priced in Rands and the JSE isn't prices in USD.
Would investing in a stock market that increases by 20% per year while the currency drops 50% per year be a good investment just purely because of the 20%?
@antoinedlmsa@ParmesanCodice@MagnusHeystek Finally some colourful Fibonacci retracement trend lines for the fun of things.
To break the 4.236 Fib level on the monthly candles:
2 Dec 1985 - 1 Jun 1998:
12 years & 6 months
1 Jun 1998 - 3 Dec 2001:
3 years & 6 months
So what levels are next:
R21.76
R28.11
R34.45
R38.37
@antoinedlmsa@ParmesanCodice@MagnusHeystek The USD/ZAR since 1980 with Heikin Ashi candle indicators showing momentum is clearly in favour of the Dollar.
The swing trend since 1980 based on W D Gann analysis again shows the trend and momentum in favour of the Dollar.
There are people who can neither find happiness in their own lives nor permit those around them to be happy. The best you can do is get such people out of your life.
Economist Thomas Sowell was once a Marxist, but now he advocates for free markets.
"What was your wake-up to what was wrong with [Marxism]?" @RubinReport asked him.
"Facts," Sowell replies.
Here’s why I admire Sowell:
People will forgive you for being wrong, but they will never forgive you for being right—especially if events prove you right while proving them wrong.
