LUT-LUT of the PALAW’AN
📍Brooke’s Point, Palawan
Used by Palaw’an people as an offering, for rituals, and for indigenous occasions, Lut-lut is only prepared when the people are thankful to the gods for a bountiful harvest and after being blessed by the elders or kegunggurangan.
This feature is lifted from the Aglay article written by Enrique Pallo, Jr, a Higaonon youth from MAMACILA CADT. For more information about the traditional food, please refer to Pallo’s article published by NTFP-EP Philippines here: https://t.co/taeA9FpizC
AGLAY (Gingoog, Misamis Oriental)
The Higaonon plant and eat aglay as an alternative to rice. After drying under the sun and separating the grain from the chaff, aglay can be boiled like porridge or steamed like rice.
#ICCATrivia#FilipinoFoodMonth
Aglay is also used in making traditional wine called agkud. There is a belief that one cannot hurt an animal or another person while eating aglay, otherwise one might grow warts on their body.

"Ang pangangalaga ng aming ICCA lang ang nakikita naming paraan upang masagot ang mga hamon at banta na kinakaharap namin ngayon. Ang pagpasa ng ICCA Bill ay malaking tulong legal upang maprotektahan ang aming Patagonan daw Bahaw-Bahaw." -Datu Benny Cumatang
