every transition affects people’s bodies differently, and i really wish more people understood that instead of treating transition like it produces one universal set of physical changes.
for me, testosterone suppression and estrogen had a massive impact on me physically. i lost so much of the strength i used to have that i genuinely started to feel weak and fragile, like my body was falling apart. it’s one of the reasons i felt like i had to retire from pro wrestling. these days, i barely get out of bed sometimes because of how easily i get fatigued.
that’s also why the discourse around trans women in sports drives me insane. people constantly talk about “biological advantages” as though every trans woman just keeps the physical capabilities she had before transitioning, regardless of how long she’s been on hormones or how drastically her body responds to them.
that just doesn’t reflect my experience at all. transition completely changed what my body is capable of. the physical strength i once relied on simply isn’t there anymore.
and i’m not saying my experience represents every trans woman, because it doesn’t. that’s exactly the point. our bodies respond to transition differently. but it’s frustrating watching people talk about trans athletes as if hormone therapy does basically nothing to the body and we’re all walking around with some permanent unfair advantage.
People saying that kubo is the best artist here is trally missing the point of the 3 styles of drawing. Oda is simple and to the point kubo is sketchy but fast with lost if detail. Kishimoto is clean and easy to read. Also kishimoto at this time had really bad hand pain
