🏆 Eugenio Coronado, Director of ICMol @UV_EG , has received the 2026 National Nanotechnology Award, organised by @Abioteclegal with the support of Fundación PONS, in recognition of his outstanding scientific career and contribution to molecular nanoscience.
An international leader in molecular magnetism, molecular spintronics, 2D materials and quantum technologies, he has published more than 730 papers, received around 45,000 citations and contributed to 18 patents.
The award ceremony will take place on 10 November at Fundación PONS in Madrid.

👏 Congratulations to Samuel Mañas Valero, Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at ICMol, who has been named laureate of the 10th Olivier Kahn International Award.
The award recognises his pioneering work at the crossroads of molecular magnetism, 2D magnetic materials and van der Waals heterostructures.
His research opens new perspectives in molecular quantum technologies and more efficient spintronic devices.
The award will be presented during #ECMM2026 in Copenhagen.

👏 We are pleased to welcome Jorge Andrés Navarro Giraldo to ICMol as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellow.
Dr Navarro joins the @2DSmartMat@UV_EG Group, led by @jjbaldovi , where he will develop his MSCA project, TopMagnets.
His research explores topological insulator/2D magnet heterostructures using first-principles calculations, with the aim of understanding proximity-induced effects and their potential for future spintronic devices.
Before joining ICMol, Jorge completed his PhD at CEITEC in Brno, Czech Republic, where he worked on graphene, graphite, topological insulators and molecular magnets.
