@ItCouldveBeenW1 @SCP_Hughes Sorry to be thick-headed, but perhaps I no one asked them? Other great cities have been chewed up by World Development. I do not know any ordinance anywhere that requires development to be submitted for citizen approval. Why should we expect Liverpool to be better?

@Davatcook @SCP_Hughes I don’t know how reducing it to a stack yes/no fails to tell the outsider the particulars he or she needs to know in order to protest. That is a job for insiders, and perhaps they are insufficiently making their case.

@SCP_Hughes Exactly. It shouldn't. Many are attempting to misrepresent UNESCO's decision as a vote against progress & redevelopment. It isn't, it's a vote against seeking progress & redevelopment badly. Liverpool can hardly expect UNESCO to respect its heritage when its own council doesn't.
