Ash and Larch classes

[Ivy Chimneys Primary @IvyChimneys]

Our Year 5 reading leaders have completed their training with Miss Laing & have started daily phonics practice with lots of @IC_EYFS children. 32 Year 5s volunteered to be reading leaders for our new mentoring scheme. We think you are ⭐️s #becomingme #thinkingme #communityme

HUGE thank you to the Redmond family who donated and built this shed for the @IC_EYFS playground - it’s going to be our outdoor writing hut

Joyful and creative play in the @IC_EYFS playground this lunchtime… lots of writing opportunities, a campfire, a play trip to Southend and a water slide for a fox 🦊

We’ve had our first meeting with local nurseries talking about starting school. It was very positive and we can’t wait to keep the partnerships going.

Ash class closed their eyes and listened to the alucorn mindfulness story written by @IC_EYFS author Chloe. She used the same patterns of language as the published relaxation stories already shared in the classroom 🦄 📖

We LOVE it 😍 🖊 ✏️

fun fact: the log slices are from a tree that was cut down in Miss Laing’s parents’ garden - recycling is great!

[Foundation Stage @IC_EYFS]

Ash class made a castle this morning completely out of recycled loose parts and packaging - who needs expensive plastic when you have this! #ecotoys #looseparts #planninginthemoment #PITM

[Foundation Stage @IC_EYFS]

not the best teaching assistant Miss Laing has ever had!

[Foundation Stage @IC_EYFS]

writing for a purpose! R’s rabbits have escaped at home so we’ve made posters in Ash to help find them #planninginthemoment #PITM

[Foundation Stage @IC_EYFS]

@IvyChimneys Jess the cat stayed in the car as she had chilly paws unfortunately!

[Foundation Stage @IC_EYFS]

Fun fact: Miss Laing was mistaken for an actual postwoman THREE times today! A postman waved at her 😃 we hope Ash and Larch enjoyed their special deliveries today!

[Ivy Chimneys Primary @IvyChimneys]

Our @IC_EYFS have made some important deliveries today... it’s not like them to dress for the occasion. Oh wait... it is 😆

[Foundation Stage @IC_EYFS]

I’m so pleased they liked it! Already planned my stories for next week 🥰

[Ivy Chimneys Primary @IvyChimneys]

The children enjoyed Miss L’s ‘story from home’ today. She loved seeing their firework pictures too 🎇🎆 @IC_EYFS

[Foundation Stage @IC_EYFS]

@siobh_garrett @GillJonesOfsted @juliangrenier Thank you, that’s so kind of you to say! 🥰 It’s been a pleasure teaching J this half term and I look forward to hearing all about his half term, have a lovely week! - Miss Laing

[Foundation Stage @IC_EYFS]

Inset day spent prepping for next half term and also watching the deep dive into the new EYFS framework from @GillJonesOfsted @juliangrenier very insightful - we’ve made lots of changes over the past few years and we’re feeling confident we’re on track!

[Ivy Chimneys Primary @IvyChimneys]

Learning and sharing with our network of colleagues across @EppingTrust is hugely important. Mtgs are virtual for now, but connecting and developing by working together is more important than ever.

Miss Laing @IC_EYFS chairs the Early Years network meetings 👏🏻

For anyone who has never read Harry Potter, or who wants to revisit it, this website is now recording chapters of the first book. The first chapter is read by none other than Harry Potter actor, Daniel Radcliffe. https://t.co/e4g74e5S9k

@IvyChimneys I absolutely sobbed! So beautiful, thank you so much ♥️ - Miss Laing
