Idaho Army National Guard brothers Bradley and Barrett Bishop were promoted from major to lieutenant colonel last week. Bradley is a pediatrician at Saint Alphonsus and serves as a flight surgeon. Barrett serves as the IDARNG’s state operations officer.
In September 2011, 11-year-old Simone Boice ran to meet her dad, Maj. Paul Boice, as he returned home to Boise from a deployment with the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team. Last week, Col. Boice ran to meet Sgt. Boice as she returned to the same spot after her own deployment.
The Idaho Army National Guard is welcoming home nearly 300 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team Soldiers today after a yearlong deployment to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Spartan Shield. An additional 300 Soldiers will also return to Idaho later this week.
