The IEU(SA) welcomes today’s announcement from the Prime Minister to commit to fully funding Public Schools in South Australia. Nationally, the IEU has supported the AEU campaign to increase federal government funding. Full release: https://t.co/NbQaWtrmgc
A massive day for public education in Australia.
We’ve secured new public school funding deals and reform agreements with South Australia and Victoria.
It’s on top of our agreements with WA, Tasmania, Northern Territory and the ACT.
The biggest reforms to school education in decades.
Great to join @PMalinauskasMP@BBoyerMP in Adelaide today.
Hats off for World Teachers Day! Today we celebrate the enormous contribution teachers make to students, families and our whole community. There are few professions that have the capacity to make such a profound impact on the lives of so many. Thank you to all our teachers here in South Australia for everything you do, day in, day out.
#WorldTeachersDay2024 @aitsl
The IEU stands with our public sector colleagues @AEUfederal. The Federal Govt must act now to guarantee 100% funding for every state school, anything less would be a terrible failure of public policy @AlboMP@JasonClareMP

We have an opportunity before us to significantly change the world for the better.
We cannot continue failing our children. We cannot continue failing their future. We have a duty to act.
It starts here, and it starts now.
📢 Have your say: The Australian Teacher Workforce Survey is now open.
The IEU supports the #ATWD Survey and IEU members can be assured that contributing will assist the IEU in our efforts to lobby for improved salaries and conditions.

'Wear It Purple Day’ will unite LGBTQIA+ youth and allies to shine a glorious light on the thousands of schools, community organisations, universities, and workplaces that are coming together to create a more inclusive future for all Australians
Right to disconnect laws that commence today are another important step towards fairer workplaces. Like all workers, teachers & school staff need a break from work and deserve much needed down time. https://t.co/4EwiBVV0y6

DONATE LIFE WEEK | Did you know that in Australia, your family will always be asked to support your decision to be an organ & tissue donor before donation goes ahead. Families are more likely to agree if they know you want to be a donor.

This morning, IEU(SA) Branch Secretary Tim Oosterbaan attended the Ministerial Early Childhood Advisory Forum to represent our Early Childhood Sector members and their interests.
Very exciting to attend an extended Ministerial Early Childhood Advisory Forum this morning to talk about the Government’s historic $1.9bn investment in the early years. As OECD CE Kim Little said, change does not happen by chance, it happens as a result of meaningful collaboration. My thanks to everyone in the early childhood sector for coming together to work to implement these important reforms.
RIGHT TO DISCONNECT⚡️Yesterday, the @IEUofA represented members at a Fair Work consultation to push back against employer moves to restrict members’ entitlements to disconnect during downtime.

At #ACTUcongress24@SecretaryIEU Carol Matthews spoke on why staff in non-govt schools should have the same protections from discrimination.
Faith-based schools can thrive without discriminating based on gender, sexuality, relationship status, or accessing fertility treatments.
