We are pleased to announce that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sıtkı Egeli’s chapter, “Emerging Disruptive Technologies and the Problem of Awareness Gap,” has been published in Implication of Emerging Threats for the Security of NATO and GCC by Palgrave Macmillan.
We were pleased to welcome Dr. Brittany Wood and her students from Murray State University (US) to Assoc. Prof. Serhun Al’s PSIR 320 Middle Eastern Politics class for a presentation on US - Iran relations and an engaging discussion with students.
Students also examined how public memory is organized through processes of selection, preservation, and representation, while reflecting on the broader theoretical frameworks discussed in class.

Happy to announce that our PSIR448 class has successfully completed a transitional justice simulation! After three hours of intense debate among the five parties to the conflict, the students drafted a preliminary agreement with the involvement of the UN.
During the event, Brill’s new flagship Encyclopedia of the Kurds was introduced to a large audience. Dr. Al will serve as the editor for the Politics and International Relations section of this major reference work.

Students also reflected on how cultural heritage and collective memory are preserved, interpreted, and sometimes underrepresented or overlooked in public space and political narratives.
