Hon. Minister Mr Shisir Khanal addressed a seminar organised by the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) @IFA_Nepal today on "Student Migration: Policy, Aspiration, and Global Mobility."
Highlighting the roles of Nepali students abroad, the Hon. Minister emphasised the pursuit of knowledge has always been a journey beyond borders to expand perspectives and expertise.
He underscored the need for a diaspora knowledge network to map the specialised skills of Nepali students and link their global insights to national development priorities.
On the occasion, the Hon. Minister also highlighted Nepal's unique strengths in areas such as Climate Science, IT and Ancient Wisdom to build world-class institutions that match the ambitions of our youth.
"We are not losing a generation; we are distributing one," he said, stressing the need to transform migration into a circular flow of knowledge that ensures every journey culminates in a contribution to the nation.
The programme was attended by government officials, migration experts, researchers, and young diplomats of MoFA.

The Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Bala Nanda Sharma, addressed today, as Chief Guest, the seminar on “Diplomacy of Wildlife Exchange: Context and Issues in Nepal”, organised to mark #IFADay.
He commended @IFA_Nepal’s role in policy discourse, training and capacity-building, and underscored the need to strengthen the Institute accordingly.

A two-day @IFA_Nepal; @FRS_org joint workshop on Hague Code of Conduct on Missile Proliferation successfully concluded on Feb 7. Various Nepali governmental and non-governmental stakeholders could further enhance their understanding of this unique aspect of non-proliferation.
