Through #PCBproject funded by @IrlEmbKenya, #youth groups in @NyandaruaCG018 were supported with #potato apical cuttings as starter material for #seed production. Multiplication of such seeds has helped boost profitability & helped in availing of quality seeds to #farmers.
#PCBtrainings have given #LeadFarmers from different sub counties in @NyandaruaCG018, an opportunity to come together and discuss on the challenges #farmers are facing & measures they are taking to address these challenges. This has also helped share ideas on #Market linkages.
Trainings on #ClimateChange have helped #Farmers in @NyandaruaCG018 understand the emerging #climatic threats & different measures to address them. Intensive trainings of lead farmers have helped reach a larger population.

The Climate change has increased Kenya's already tough #foodsecurity challenges. #Farmers in @NyandaruaCG018 are playing their role in mitigating the impact by learning the effects on #agriculture and taking actions to adapt to the weather events.
We always ensure that our #PCBproject field events are productive!
How do we do this?
By addressing questions and concerns #farmers@NyandaruaCG018 have and guiding them in regards to #GoodAgriculturalPractices.

Addressing the challenges that #farmers in @NyandaruaCG018 are facing & coming up with sustainable solutions to solve them has been a combined effort which has involved hearing from #farmers. This has helped come up with more adoptive measures improving #farmers livelihoods.

Failure to plant improved #PotatoSeeds & follow the right #Agricultural practices resulted in increased #poverty amongst #Farmers in @NyandaruaCG018. #PCB trainings have helped tackle this, improving their livelihoods due to increase in production & linkage to sustainable #market
Focusing on #CropRotation, #Farmers participating in the PCB Project often plant other crops in addition to potatoes. Project trainers give #farmers advice on which crops, such as cabbage and peas, rotate well with #Potatoes.
Good knowledge on the right amount and type of fertilizer to apply during planting has helped ensure increased production. #Farmers have been advised on different types of fertilizer to apply depending on the outcomes of #SoilTesting that #PCB trainers help interpret.
#CropRotation is crucial in helping nutrients return to the soil and also interrupts disease and pest cycles. Through the PCB project in #Kenya, #farmers have been trained on the importance of crop rotation and the right plants to grow after #potatoes.
Digital #agriculture offers #farmers the opportunity to increase production. Farmer education conducted through the @IrlEmbKenya funded #PCBProject, in collaboration with @npckkenya, helps farmers in sourcing market through viazi soko platform.

Reuben is one of the #Youth trained on #GoodAgriculturalPractices under the @IrlEmbKenya funded #PCBProject. After the training on pre and post harvest loss management, he designed and constructed a diffused light potato store to help safely store his #PotatoSeed.
Members of Jiinue FFBS during their harvest! Under #PCBProject, more than 130 mt of certified seeds & 420 mt of clean seeds are availed by @NyandaruaCG018. #Farmers have gone ahead to continue with seed multiplication for increased productivity.
