Neil Duncan-Jordan MP @NeilForPoole says "a dog died every other day in greyhound racing last year."

The actual figure is slightly less than that. And track deaths have fallen 62% since 2017. Regulation is working.

Meanwhile 230,000 pets were put to sleep by owners who could not afford to keep them in a single year. That is over 600 a day.

The RSPCA calls French bulldogs "born to suffer." At least 20 are born every day. They’re not vet checked before their next walk.

340,000 pets needed food bank support in 2024.

If this were about dog welfare, that is where MPs would be looking.
