Sometimes, stillness, rather than splendor, draws everyone’s attention. This is the story of actor Park Jinyoung, who moved viewers with a calm yet powerful presence in tvN’s weekend drama Our Unwritten Seoul.
Our Unwritten Seoul, which aired its finale on June 29, is a story about identical twin sisters, Yoo Miji and Yoo Mirae (both played by Park Boyoung), who switch lives through a lie and embark on a journey to discover true love and the meaning of life. Park Jinyoung played Lee Hosu, a lawyer from a major law firm and high school classmate of Miji and Mirae, delivering a passionate performance.
After losing his father and suffering from aftereffects of a major car accident that nearly took his life, Lee Hosu, now thirty years old, experiences a turning point when he encounters Miji in Mirae’s appearance in the heart of Seoul.
In this role, Park Jinyoung delivered a nuanced performance, expressing the character of Lee Hosu with his signature dense emotional depth, never overacting or underplaying, making it hard to imagine anyone else in the role. It goes without saying that the performance, though not flashy, must have required great effort. Having completed his military service last November, Park Jinyoung made his return to the small screen and carefully brought out the emotional scars hidden deep within Lee Hosu, shaping a version of the character that was wholly his own.
Thanks to the excellent performance born from his sincere contemplation, viewers of Our Unwritten Seoul were able to follow Lee Hosu as he let go a painful past, embraced a precious unknown present, and looked ahead to a distant but hopeful tomorrow throughout all 12 episodes.
He went beyond just bringing Lee Hosu’s life to life as it gradually became more true to who Lee Hosu was. The salvation narrative of filling in each other’s gaps with Park Boyoung, who played Yoo Miji/Yoo Mirae, the family love stronger than blood with his stepmother Yeom Bunhong, various forms of love were drawn out, resonating deeply with many viewers. In many ways, Our Unwritten Seoul became a time of shared tears and laughter, swept up in a dazzling wave of love created by Park Jinyoung and the rest of the cast.
What follows is a Q&A interview with Park Jinyoung, held on July 1 at the BH Entertainment office in Gangnam, Seoul.
This was your first project after completing your military service. How do you feel about successfully wrapping it up? Many people praised the ending as a “dragon head, dragon tail” (strong beginning and strong ending); as an actor, are you satisfied as well?
JINYOUNG: I honestly feel like I was really lucky. To have such a great first project after being discharged, and for it to receive so much love, I’m just so grateful. To be honest, while on set, we didn’t know whether it would do well or not, but it was just really fun. Filming with the director and all the senior actors was a lot of fun. And we talked a lot on set about how precious this script was. Because we were so attached to the story, it doubled the happiness when it received such great love. I remember loving the script when I got it, right around the time I was discharged.
There were a lot of tearjerker moments in every episode. Did you ever cry while monitoring?
JINYOUNG: I felt like just another viewer. Not someone in the cast. (laughs) Every time the grandmother showed up, it was so tough to watch, I think I cried every time. There was one time I cried so much it actually hurt. My chest ached whenever the grandmother appeared. I cried a lot in those parts. But when I appeared, I wouldn’t cry. I was too focused on monitoring myself and how I was doing. I felt like I was going to get stiff neck. I get really nervous whenever I appear. Yugyeom will be releasing his final full-length album before enlisting in the military.
On June 17 at 6 PM (KST), Yugyeom will release his second full album, [#Interlunar].
With his military enlistment approaching, Yugyeom metaphorically expressed the upcoming hiatus through the album title [Interlunar], which means “the period when the moon is not visible between the waning moon and the new moon.” Even if he and his loved ones can’t see each other for a while, knowing that they’ll meet again brings comfort, not fear or sadness. That message runs throughout the album.
The second full album features two title tracks, the eponymous “Interlunar” and “Shall We Dance”, and includes a total of 10 tracks that showcase Yugyeom’s more mature musical style.
Artists with strong individual identities in their respective genres also contributed to producing and featuring on various tracks, including Code Kunst, SEVENTEEN’s Vernon, Gaeko of Dynamic Duo, DJ Wegun, L-like, Hoody, THAMA, and KIRIN, adding to the album’s completeness.
Last year, Yugyeom received global praise with his first full-length solo album [TRUST ME] and the single [Sweet Like]. From October until April this year, he successfully held his solo world tour [TRUSTY], performing in major cities across Asia, North America, and Latin America, including a stop in Seoul.
Just last month, GOT7 reunited as a full group to hold a successful solo concert titled ‘NESTFEST’ in BANGKOK in Thailand.

There are times when we think, “Is this even possible?” But once we start, somehow we all manage to come together. (…) It’s genuine friendship between the members. Dear GOT7,
On behalf of international Ahgase, I’m writing to express our deep disappointment and frustration regarding the ticketing process for GOT7’s concert at Rajamangala Stadium.
Like our Thai Ahgase counterparts, we have eagerly awaited an accessible opportunity to see GOT7 perform at Rajamangala Stadium. As members and organizers have previously stated, this concert is a special event since there won’t be a global tour in the foreseeable future. As members have said, this is a special event for all Ahgases.
However, the actions of the organizers (@411ent) and the behavior of some Thai Ahgase have left us international Ahgases feeling discouraged, discriminated against, and excluded.
Throughout the ticketing process, international fans have faced significant barriers that undermine the spirit of equality that GOT7 and Ahgase stand for. These include:
- Blocking of international IP addresses: During the *global* presale and ticketing *resale* phases, international IPs were systematically blocked, preventing fans outside Thailand from accessing tickets.
- The use of a **418 error code**—a deliberate signal that connection requests from overseas IPs are not processed—feels like a mockery of our efforts to support GOT7.
- Sudden changes to queueing rules: After tickets were sold, the organizers altered queueing regulations in ways that disproportionately disadvantaged international fans, further limiting our ability to participate fairly. This “locals first” treatment may also set a precedent in other countries.
- No English subtitles in the promo videos posted by @411ent, only Thai.
- Xenophobic and abusive behavior: Disturbingly, numerous Thai Ahgase have posted xenophobic tweets demanding that the concert be exclusively for Thai fans, creating a hostile environment for international Ahgases.
These actions and sentiments are not only disheartening but also stand in stark contrast to the values of GOT7. We believe there are additional instances of discrimination that further compound these issues, and we trust that you who value all Ahgases equally, do not condone such treatment.
We respectfully urge GOT7 to address these concerns by:
1. Investigating the discriminatory ticketing practices and ensuring future processes are inclusive and transparent for all fans.
2. Condemning xenophobic behavior within the fandom to foster a welcoming community for Ahgase worldwide.
3. Implementing measures to ensure international fans have equitable access to concert-related opportunities, including merchandise and presale benefits.
