(1/3) @NewTrier203@IGSSers teachers developed a project in which students worked in groups outside school & put their learning to work by presenting to each of the Village Boards throughout the township as they advocated for affordable housing in their respective neighborhoods.
(1/3) @NewTrier203@IGSSers teachers developed a Service Learning project in which students worked in small groups outside the school while learning about aspects of poverty specific to their interests. It focused on relevant, engaging, and student-centered learning experiences.
(2/3) @IGSSers teachers attended a project based learning conference, thanks to the Foundation’s first ever Fowkes Family Grant. Professional development opportunities like this provide knowledge & tools for faculty to create impactful programs for @NewTrier203 students.
From late October to early November of 2023, students from New Trier High School’s Integrated Global Studies School (IGSS) met with Township Village Boards to propose ways to increase affordable housing on the North Shore.
