Will probably end up getting kicked off Twitter for this. But here we go. No longer can anyone tell me that BIG TECH platforms have the same, if not a, larger influence on international political crisis, than small and medium sized nation states. I coined the term the “The Foreign Policy of Silicon Valley” in 2014, have written on this subject and finally the world is waking up. Yes, a private company has every right to do as it pleases. However, when this company projects more influence than the majority of nation states, we really need to start asking ourselves the big questions: where is the regulation? How should it be regulated? Is this ethical? Or is it simply the world we are now in? Is there a way out? Should there be a way out?. Huge Goodbye, if you don’t see on Twitter again. Or my account deleted. You will know why.
