Good evening, as we begin planning for the 23-24 school year, I wanted to let you know that I will not be returning to Northwoods Park Middle School, instead I will be transitioning to Blue Creek Elementary School to serve as their Principal.
Join us next Thursday, April 27 for the annual Global Innovative Showcase! At this event, OCS families and community members can learn about how OCS provides a global education and prepares students to be competitive in the workforce.
Next Friday, April 21, is Purple Up! Day in Onslow County! Be sure to join us in wearing purple that day to show support for our district's military students.

There are 23 schools in our district that have built formal partnerships with units from local military bases through the Adopt-a-School program.
April is Month of the Military Child, and this week, we proudly recognized two students at our BOE meeting who were named national semifinalists for Military Child of the Year. Congratulations to Kailyn Carmichael, of Onslow Early College, and Lola Campbell, of Swansboro High!
Tuesday, the BOE honored 12 students who represented OCS at the 2023 NC Junior Science & Humanities Symposium. Khang Pham, of NSHS, earned the opportunity to compete nationally! Congrats to all who competed, and good luck to Khang as he competes in Virginia Beach this week!
Congrats to all who competed in the 2023 regional & state science fairs! Regional competitors included McKenzie Riddle, Sophia Zheng, Alexandra Luongo, Bode Blum, Ian Woolston, Matthew Ayala & Khang Pham. Bode, Ian, Matthew & Khang competed at states, where Bode & Ian placed 3rd.
At last night's BOE meeting, we recognized our middle and high school Science Olympiad teams, who recently competed in the regional competition.
Teams from Southwest Middle, Onslow Early College, and Northside High represented OCS well, and we congratulate them on their success!
