WE DID IT!! 🎉🎉 After less than a week, Inside Higher Ed leadership chose to voluntarily recognize our union. We are so proud, so grateful, and so excited to bargain!
Very exciting news! We stand with @EdWeekUnion. Always great to see another education newsroom unionize -- the incredible staff at @educationweek deserve those protections.
Solidarity with our newest @WBNG32035 sibling as they fight for a fair contract ✊
Education Week is unionizing! We are a strong majority of @educationweek’s reporters, artists, researchers, marketers, engagement specialists, and much more. @NewsGuild@CWAUnion@WBNG32035

Here’s what President Biden had to say recently about the existence of noncompete agreements. The president understands why forcing employees to sign noncompetes is ridiculous, but @insidehighered doesn’t?
President Biden wants to crack down on noncompete agreements, and for good reason, since employers like @insidehighered still want the option to force us to sign noncompetes in the future. https://t.co/0IuQB85pRm
When the union has the overwhelming worker support that @washguild has, pushing it to an election is a waste of time and money for everyone. Solidarity with Washingtonian staff today 💪💪💪
UPDATE: Washingtonian management has sent a memo to staff informing us they will NOT voluntarily recognize a union. We need your support. Send a letter here. ⬇️ https://t.co/RpufKRYlWY
We, the workers of @IPS_dc — the nation’s oldest multi-issue progressive think tank — have unanimously formed a union with @WBNG32035 ✊
We are ecstatic to have received swift, voluntary recognition from management.
One of the very best things media unions have done in recent years is institute so many new salary minimums. A lot of people come into jobs at horrendous salaries that dog them for their careers. All these new contracts are lifting the floor for those who need it most.
Many of us knew we wouldn’t be here to see the ink dry on our first contract, but we wanted to make things better for the people who came after us. I already feel that that’s happening.
I’ve written a lot of stories I’m really proud of, especially those about low-wage campus workers, disability, and the environment. But one of my proudest accomplishments is helping to start @IHEGuild with my friends and colleagues and serving on our bargaining team.
We, the workers of Oxford University Press USA, are forming a union! We are excited to join 24,000+ workers at @newsguild & for the opportunities ahead. Support us in our campaign for voluntary recognition by liking, retweeting, and sharing our platform! #OUPUSAGuild#UnionizeUP
Join our Guild! @insidehighered
is hiring three reporters and a senior editor (the editor will not be represented by the union). Our members are happy to honestly answer any questions you may have about these positions or about working at IHE. #journalismjobs
Since 2019, @TheNewsPress and @ndn have lost nearly 40 reporters, editors and staffers to layoffs, buyouts and departures. In that same period, @Gannett has hired a fraction.
This week was my last at @insidehighered. A huge thank you to all my colleagues, @iheguild, and everyone who ever took the time to talk with me for an article, it was a privilege to listen to your stories and expertise. I will still be writing about higher ed – watch this space!
